You may recall my post from last fall. Seems that somebody not too far from my neighborhood has a Ferrari 360 Modena. I saw it parked across the street in the school parking lot and took this picture:

He was not real happy with the plates on my car at the time: "4RE KLR". I felt a bit guilty insulting his very expensive ride, so I eventually changed my plates to "2WICKED".

Anyway, guess who I lined up next to at a stoplight tonight? Yep! The guy in the Modena. He didn't seem thrilled and when I rolled down my window to chat (long light) he seemed a bit aloof. He finally rolled his window down part way and we exchanged pleasantries (he said he vaguely remembered me and added that it was nice to own a weekend car). So, the lights turned green and he gunned it. I immediately gave him a nice view of my new license plate (hint: Kansas doesn't have front plates). He needed binoculars in short order, as he faded fast. I slowed down for the next light (four lane, no side streets) and he blew past through the RED light! Guess he didn't want to give it another shot. Some guys in a Ford Probe had been frantically trying to follow the action and caught me at the light. They gave BIG thumbs up and yelled "America rules!!" I gave them that typical Viper owner grin that says, "Man this is fun!!" and returned the thumbs up. I didn't bother to tell them that the guy driving the Ferrari was probably American

Tomorrow we have our first Dyno Day (if the weather cooperates) and I am eager to see how we do. There is a Hennessey Venom in our club, so he will probably set the pace.
Sean Roe from Roe Racing and Tom Welch from BTR Performance loaned us some bolt on go-fast goodies to test on the dyno, so we should do just fine. One of our members is doing a little upgrading of his own, so he may not make this dyno run. Should be a monster this summer! We are really looking forward to tomorrow's event. I'm just glad that this is the weekend I can drive my "weekend" car!
