Please help me get an official count from this board. We need to show the number of VCA Members that has attended or is planning to attend the upcoming Viper Drag Racing Events.

This post is important, we need to encourage the VCA to become a big part of the VIper Drag Racing World. If we continue to want a Viper Only Drag Racing Event It would be a great help to have the full support of the VCA.

I feel as a member of the VCA We should have the option to participate in a real Drag Racing event that is for Vipers only that is supported by the VCA. Many Local clubs have showed great interest and have supported the events in the past and have pledged to continue to do so. However we are hoping to gain full support on a national level.

I am not trying to stir up a mess.(Just trying to continue the success of what I love to Do) However, I would like to have your Positive opinion and know if your involved or intend to become involved in Viper Drag Racing.

Please respond here as well as send the National and your local VCA a friendly notice that you would love to have the Viper drag racing supported by them.

Please Respond!

I know I would like to see a portion of my VCA dues go to help sponser the drag racing series. My VCA number is 13391. The sponsers have kind enough to put up a portion of their profits to sponser the series. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE VCA TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE ALSO.

Going going going
I think that Texas will have 4 to 6 Vipers there.

It would be great to see the VCA step up with something. A portion of the yearly fees could go to the series and might go a long way to get this off the ground in a big way.

VCA, Step up to the plate, please and thank you

i am not currently a VCA member and I would definitely become one if I knew a portion of the dues or at least VCA support was given. if not i know those of us who love this event and now series of events will all keep it alive as the "outlaw" that it is.

I became a VCA Member in July of 2003,besides the one mag I received there hasn't been a big incentive to renew. Having the VCA support a Nation Drag series would help.It would also be nice to have East,Central, West division's with the finals centrally located. Just my .02

I am a VCA member, I drove and trailered my Viper almost 5000 miles last year to go to V-10 national events, as did many people, and some even more miles. I hope that the VCA sees that this is an event that Viper owners are interested in. Just as some owners are interested in other forms of racing, many are interested in Drag Racing.

I would love to become a vca member but there is no club in my state. However, if they got involved in the series it would motivate me to become a member.

VCA step up to the plate.

Todd and west coast owners:

I am working hard to develop a True Nationals Series! If i can get the help we will have a east and west coast and meet in the middle for the championship!

I have recieved numerous emails with ideas and great ideas on how to make it happen. (It can happen) I just want to see the VCA be a part of it!

However, There comes a time where we must move forward!

I will participate in the Columbus and Norwalk events, as well as the NMCA events at Quacker City (Salem, Oh)and Columbus.

I believe that there are many Viper owners dissatisfied with the VCA's (National) lack of support of drag racing. Take a look at Ohio, more major drag strips than any other state and less than 40% of the Ohio viper owners are members. Could the two be associated.

If any NE Ohio viper owners see this post, myself and a friend (viper owner) participate in the Corvette Club autocross league. It is typically every other Sunday. They are a great group and they welcome the vipers. It would nice to see a few more vipers at these events.

I've already been to one of David's V-10 Nationals events, and will be going to at LEAST one more this year. He has my full effort and support. Everyone agrees we need more drag racing activities. It's SO great to just be there with other Vipers and their owners, and have the whole track to yourself. I also see it as a great place to simply LEARN to have fun with your car, particularly if you're a "first timer", and worried about embarrassing yourself in front of the typical Brand X crowds at your local, open public event. If we support David's series, and any other drag events hosted by local regions coming up this year, then there will end up being a lot more of it. It goes beyond just saying "we need more drag racing"...... more owners actually need to come out to play..... and support it with their attendance! Go V-10 Nationals!!! Many thanks to Roofman and his wonderful sponsors for stepping up to make all this start happening.

National VCA definately needs to recognize DRAG RACING. It's the most participant attended motorsport in the country. In fact, in the spirit of the Cobra which the Viper has a strong family tie, we need our own version of the infamous Dragon Snake. Shelby made a limited number of Drag Racing tuned cobras in the 60s. Think what a Viper version could accomplish in Stock Eliminator!!

Also in support of the V10 Nationals, the Ohio VCA will pony up $1500 toward the purse in Columbus Aug 6-7. I encourage other state chapters to do the same and maybe the National will bet the idea.

Jeff Johnson, the promoter of the Columbus event which runs in conjunction with the V10 Nats, is throwing in $500 for the Viper purse!! That's $2000 total in Ohio.

Remember the Ohio event will have an Auto X for everyone to try. We might come up with a combined winner for best combined time in the AutoX and on the drag Strip. (Must run the same setup in both)

I was told by Jason Heffner that a V10 Nationals event would be planned at Maryland International Raceway (MIR) this year. I would definitely participate, provided SRT-10's can run without roll bars. Maybe VCA can make it so?
