As many of you know my 00 Steely Grey and silver GTS was crashed about two months ago by a "professional driving instructor". The repair estimate on that car was fifty three thousand dollars.
After many sleepless nights trying to decide which Viper to buy next I came across a 00 red and silver GTS with 2000 miles on it.
Gary Almond and I left Thursday night to pick up the car in Pompano Beach Florida which is about 1100 miles away. We ended up driving all night non stop until we reached Jacksonville where we visited Sean and Rebecca Roe at Roe Racing U.S.A.. It was a pleasure meeting them both as well as checking out Seans new supercharger. The supercharger system looks like a really easy install and I'm sure will make a lot of happy customers. Unfortunately I didn't get to drive the car because Sean was in the middle of making a few changes to the car.
After leaving Roe Racing we drove about four more hours to Pompano. We made the deal, loaded up the car and headed back for another 1100 mile trip non stop to Maryland.
Today I stripped all of the wax from the car and put on a couple fresh coats of Zaino. I have never seen paint glow like this. It will take me a few days to get the car fully detailed but when it's done I'm sure it will look better than new.
Tomorrow I will put the car on the dyno to make sure it's ready for some drag race action next weekend. Tomorrow I will also be ordering a new set of 19 inch HREs. I've already sent out a set of heads to be ported for the car and a supercharger is not far off. I'll see some of you guys soon.
I hope some of you will be able to make it to Budds Creek Maryland to help whip some Vettes on the fourth.
