Our Vipers with OEM batteries would EASILY start in winter months after a 3-4 week period without using a charger (and NO starts in between)...LONGER with alarm off and all doors plus hood closed. The alarms are a real drain!! Have replaced the batteries older than three years...ALL "ride" Deltran tenders now. Only thing that I watch for now is having several starts in a row associated with low rpm driving and use of A/C (plus lights)...though rare for us, this type of driving seems to deplete battery with very little charge being restored unless one keeps tach above 1400 rpm.

How long should the battery last without pugging in or starting the engine? Mine doesn't seem to last more than a day or two.. and now that it's getting cold (dont laugh.. i live in so. cal) at night.. Also.. how long should i pug the battery in when recharging.. i would think i could leave it plugged in for days if i wanted to. Thanks.

Hey BackDoc;

Hard to give firm answer, but your battery (if in good shape) should months between starts...If its days either the battery is toast or you have a big current leak...

On charging, a good charger will cycle the charge, and auto turn off when the battery is fully charged.
