I went to check on my 06 vert in storage and found the battery to be dead. I bought the car new in may of 07 from a dodge dealer.

So when I removed the rear carpet to take out the batt. I found all the star screws were striped. I finally removed they, (2 hours) and found a chrysler battery that I am not sure is factory. The manual says the battery is sealed and this one has the pop off caps for distilled water. Is this factory or did the dealer change it out?

By the way put a two hour charge on the batt and put a trickle charger on it. Should of done that in November.

I went to lowes and purchased the 6M machine bolts with a hex head on them so I can now use a socket on them to remove the plate.

Any feed back about the battery would be appreciated.

Obviously, the OE battery was replaced by the dealer if the bolts were stripped. Your car is still under warranty so the dealer should give you a replacement. I don't particularly care for the Mopar batteries as once they go completely dead and are recharged, they eventually lose their capacity to hold a charge and may leave you stranded. There are several aftermarket brands (Diehard, Interstate, Optima) with varying opinions. Do a search and you'll come up with previous threads on this subject (including testimonials on the various aftermarket brands). As far as the bolts go, I would attempt to have the dealer supply you with more although they may claim that you stripped them when you replaced the battery.

For some reason those original screws holding that cover on are a S.O.B to get out!!!!!:panic:I striped two of mine changing the battery last year.

Yeah, trying to remove them by hand is a S.O.B. The correct torx bit and a power drill makes the job a lot faster and easier.

Ok guys..... I didn't use a hand held torx driver or my teeth here to take them out:confused:

Just so you know I used my 18v Dewalt with a torx bit and it still about twisted my wrist off when it unscrewed them.

I also used an 18v DeWalt dialed to the highest torque setting and didn't have any problems.
