Like I said on the other board, another shop is testing these now and actually may have results by now, west coast viper. I dont see why a 40-50 hp gain is unlikely

I am not doubting it per se, I am simply surprised (and very pleasantly so) that such gains could be had with this car. Having come from a 2000 GTS where a similar exhaust would have yielded only marginal results (15-20 rwhp), I assumed that similar engine design had been carried over and thus similar results expected. Can't wait to see some "before and after" dynos and just wish I was a lot closer to Arizona to offer mine as a guinea pig!

We have done a ton of Belanger Headers ( Bob W.'s personal favorite ) and we saw similar gains for Gen IIs . It was difficult not to find a top runner in Viper Days that didn't have these headers. Belanger has been around for over 50 years and Woodhouse is relentless in his search for excellence. We all sat around here for years while he did his typical research ( see he was a Ford Zone Service Manager for years prior to owning a store, and you can't take the nerdy tech outa da boy )and he finally pounced on Belanger after almost 4 years . We install them , almost exclusively , and I would imagine they are again at the top of the heap for the new car. We have installed some already and the power has been felt. I believe we dyno'd one set, but Bob W. is out of town and I will have to check with him when he gets back, but I see no reason to doubt that they are running strong. I know we have one set still in stock, and more on order. Call Nancy Shanno if you want assistance, and make sure you ask for the VCA discount.

Anyone owning a Gen3 with B&B H&E installed, please feel free to fax me the dyno results @ 407.246.2415.

The same goes for the Belanger and [******] product as well. Thanks!

I don't get it.

If stock SRT-10's are rated 500 HP at the crank and 440 HP at the wheels (taking into consideration the 12% loss at the drivetrain), how can Belanger headers make 490 RWHP? If true, then stock SRT-10's with Belanger headers should be rated 550+ HP at the crank?

Who needs a Ford GT if we can get the same power just by installing headers? ;)

Stock SRT's do make 440-450 RWHP. So the above does sound true. I need to see more evidence though before making the plunge. Decisions. Supercharger, headers or both. Someone please show the results of these 2 combinations. Sean!

Chris...I've got Belanger header/exhaust system on my SRT but did not dyno it before the install. I do plan on getting the numbers on it in the next couple of weeks and will let you know how it turns out.
I can tell you that the sills run much cooler and the sound is awesome.

Clark -

Very eager to hear your unbiased report. Have you had a chance to get SOTP (Seat of the Pants) feel yet? Curious if it is a noticable increase, which 10% should accomplish. Very interesting indeed and thanks for the reply!

I also would love to hear your conclusions. Can you feel any difference in the car's performance at all? Please post your dyno numbers when you get them.

Thanks

Chris/Kai...

SOTP feel is much better(of course the loud rumbling at idle and wot probably have my ears at attention :D ). The car sounds and feels so much better with the system..IMHO. It's loud and feels stronger and idling down coming off the go pedal has that familiar sound that a lot of us like about the Gen II's with Belangers...lots of noise. If you want to cruise in the car 5th is relatively quiet(much more so than the '01 GTS with the same system). It's not for those that enjoy the quietness of stock...and I think it makes it sound more like a viper.

"Two thumbs up" :2tu: ...numbers will follow.

The Tri Y design is good for mid-range and bottom end power, and the special collector the Ballenger uses is highly effective at speeding up the gas and scavaging the cylinders - testament to them being considered the number one header for a long time...

But 50rwhp does sound like too much - it may be that much at a lower rpm level where it will be truly felt... but it still sounds like an extraordinary gain over a factory header that in itself is a big improvement over a cast iron manifold.

For the seriously built engines and boosted engines however - I'm still a believer in the 5 into 1 design - all serious race engines use the 5 into 1.... but I can see that the Ballengers may have advantages in the lower to mid-range - where you drive most of the time.
