S/N 0001? You're not actually going to install them are you?

Of course not, I am going to have them bronzed and mounted right above the moose head in my garage. :)

By the way everyone, sorry for the gigantic pictures. I am still a bit of a rookie when it comes to this picture posting stuff.

What color/options on your 08?

Ray --

2008 convertible;

Viper GTS Blue with no stripes;

Standard 5-spoke wheels which will be swapped with lighter weight sidewinder wheels at the dealership;

Blue/black two-tone interior;

Graphite center console bezel (I might replace this with the Mopar carbon fiber bezel if I don't like the look of the Graphite); and

RB-1 Navigation with Sirius Radio.

I have seen some blue verts in person, and they are gorgeous. With sidewinders, new hood and two tone interior it will look even better. Congrats!

Wow, Rich--thank you for the plug for our local high school, and you're in Oregon? How do you know about the Albany High School Falcons??? (Can't say we follow them, as we live in the South Colonie school district, and have grown kids that don't live near us!!!)
Do you know any delivery date for your '08?? Are you having the headers ceramic-coated? We did, and they stay much,much cooler....good luck with your new '08!!!

Actually grew up in Albany; I don't plan to have the headers coated but I will be adding Lou Belanger's sidepipe exhaust kit with high-flow cats. Don't know if this will also reduce heat.

I have no real way of knowing whe the 2008 will arrive; I ordred the car with the Graphite bezel and two-tone interior which may result in the car not being produced until October. At this point, I am estimating on getting the car in November, just in time for the rainy season here in Oregon. :(

Cheers.

They look AWESOME! I have a set of Belangers on our '05 and absolutely love 'em. Great sound, great power, and incredible craftsmanship. Awesome upgrade! :2tu:

I took the liberty of sizing your pictures a bit smaller, which you can easily do when you upload them to the site: It doesn't make a difference what size you upload, whether it be "high def" or a thumbnail as the Gallery will give you different size options once uploaded. Once you upload your picture the first thing you will see are thumbnails of everything you uploaded. Click on that thumbnail and you will get a screen with a "medium" sized picture, assuming it was a larger one to begin with. That screen also shows you the other size available (you can click the picture or the size and it will come up). Most importantly, it gives you the actual code to insert right in your post if you wish:

photos.jpg

Notice that if it is a "medium" picture (smaller than the orginal) it will say so right in the URL itself. The ORIGINAL picture (no matter what size) will not show "medium" in the url. Indeed, if you "copy and paste" the url of your thumbnail picture you will see "thumbs" in that same spot. The Gallery basically has folders for each size - thumbs, medium, and originals. If your image isn't that big it won't create a "medium" file as it is already sized well for viewing there and in the forums. In other words, if your picture is huge (like the original of the one above), you can post the "medium" version to keep people from having to scroll back and forth to see it.

Hope this helps, and thanks again for the pictures!

VERY cool, Rich!!! I was not brought up in Albany, but outside Syracuse; Mike was brought up in Canajoharie...none of us are Albany-ites. Oops--I started this response an hour ago, but had to leave to get a fuel pump for Mike's work truck, and just left this mid-sentence!~! (yep, all 60lbs. of it---bleahhhhh, the diesel fuel this year has been horrible, with no additives added, so aLOT of fuel pumps are going bad, just one more thing when you're self-employed and have to maintain your own vehicle...now if we can get our TRUCK mechanic ASAP!~!).....sooo, the graphite bezel and two-tone interior I can't wait to see!!! Oh, yeah, the exhaust and high-flow cats will also diminish the heat...hope you get this sooner than the rainy season so you can 'break this baby in'!!!! ~juli~

Oh, so Y2K----you have to load the pictures into the gallery first to resize them? That is good news to me, now I can size my pictures accordingly...thank you for posting that info!
(thought we could just cut and paste on the posts...but the gallery would be better for resizing?)....juli

The gallery automatically gives you multiple sizes when you load the pictures. No "resizing" needed on your part, the gallery literally gives you different options to post. In the options on my floormat picture above, I can post the GIANT 2500 x 1875 picture (609.9kb) or the smaller, more "user friendly" 40.8kb size. I need only click on either of those two numbers (40.8 or 609.9) to see the size of the picture I am posting AND get the UBB code to put in my post. Nothing you need to do, the galleries do it for you! :2tu:

Thank you Y2K...gotcha!! ~juli~
(BACK to regular programming.....)
I just tried to upload a picture to the gallery and it was taking more than 30 min. to upload, and still hadn't, so I cancelled it...what could've been the problem there? ~juli~
(sorry--hijack again...)

Nsane --

I don't know, frankly. There is the youtube video of the 2008 at Luke AFB. According to Jon B and Lou Belanger this car had the Belanger exhaust on it (not sure if it also had the Belanger/Mopar headers though):

www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7p8WR3_f6E

You can't really hear it that well because of the distance but it sounds promising. Maybe Jon B or someone else who sat in the car and heard it firsthand can chime in.

I will of course try to post some sound clips when the car is done but that could be November. :(

AFL:

I ordered the Belanger side pipe exhaust as well and had the tips "jet coated" a matte black to match the exhaust surround on the Viper but I have no idea whether the Belanger headers are jet coated. Does anyone here know?

Also, just got the Belanger sidepipe exhaust kit with high flow cats today. I had Lou Belanger jet coat the exhaust tips a black matte/satin finish that matches the finish of the black exhaust exit surround on the 2003-2008 Viper. Thanks again to Jon B at Parts Rack and Lou Belanger for quality and timely service.

Will Gen. III Belanger headers fit correctly onto an "08 Viper?

Flyntgr -- My impression from talking with Lou Belanger is no; he indicated that he needed to create a new jig in order to make the 08 headers. I would contact Lou though for confirmation.

The 08 with a few bolt ons a good driver and perhaps a tune is going to be the car to beat in the coming years.
