Well I have had it now for 24 hours. As soon as I learn how to post pics I will. After the first 150 miles I am slowly getting more familiar with it. The car is everything I thought it would be. But more specifically the acceleration. I was at Walt Disney in Orlando about a month ago, and I took this ride called the "Aerosmith" (or something like that) at the MGM park. Anyway just before the ride starts, you stop just before a tunnel and then the music starts; and then the coaster justs takes off like a bat out of he$$. Yup...pretty much describes what it is like. Absolute madness. I concur this car commands respect. It hasn't fished out on me yet but I can just feel it under the throttle. If some of you are looking to buy and need a benchmark to know "what does it feel like" that Aerosmith ride would be comparable. It was the first thing that came into my mind while I was blasting off.

This car is just sick. It just feels like an "angry" car. :D

Yup.....carrier-launch indeed.

Put in a 3.55 gear and feel 16% GREATER/FASTER acceleration, once you get hooked up! Under $1000 installed. Feels like +70HP

I've only had more fun in one car than a 500 HP Viper- a 655 HP Heffner supercharged Viper. I'm sure the "mod fever" will catch on soon! Beware, hide your wallet, ATM card, and check book from yourself before it's too late. Does the RT/10 have any mdoifications on it from when you bought it? Show off your beautiful beast with some pictures soon (as you said). Take care, and enjoy!

Hey Jon -

Kind of a long short here but do you (or anyone here) know of anyone in the Dallas area that you would recommend for a gear change?

Keith Laxson 972-434-1746 Huffines Dodge over in Lewisville is one source.

The shop is at 121 and 35, just go west on 121 and turn at 35 and before
you get on the on-ramp turn right. Your in the parking lot.

Thinking about getting mine done too...

Yep, I love it when people ask for a ride and are not prepared for that level of acceleration in a car.

I just put 3.55 Unitrax gears in and it does feel even better. Always in the meat of the power curve in every gear.

The one piece of advice that I got from here that was invaluable is don't punch it in the middle of a turn until you have some real experience driving the Viper.

When you respect the power, it will continue to thrill you for years to come, with the biggest "problem" being that you will want to mod it for even more power after a short while.

Enjoy,
-Dean.

Let the games begin!!

I love banging into 4th gear and peek down and see I am nearing 120mph, not sure gears are the way to go for me.

Safe to say it's all you thought it would be???

I actually mildly-injured someone's neck in my car (on another occassion I injured my own) with the immediate torque and throttle response you get with the car. Although mine is not stock, with over 835 ft/lbs torque, if you mash the throttle in the 'sweet spot' of the torque curve, your head will get slammed into the headrest.

Many people question why in the hell I would want to add a supercharger on top of this???? Maybe I jarred my brain one too many times with the current power and I just don't know any better!

I took an x-fighter pilot for a ride and he said it was the closest thing he felt to the torque of a jet. He was obivously being kind.

I can picture the guy showing up Monday morning to work with a neck brace and explaining his injury..."whiplish from the torque on a super-charged Viper boss..." just makes me smile from ear to ear... ;)

Thanks Dixter - been thinking about it for some time but just haven't made the call yet.

Let me know if you get yours done and maybe I'll hit ya up for a quick ride before doing mine. :)

"Add 3.55:1 gears for a 16% increase in torque?"

Hey - why not add 6.14:1 rears and get 100% increase? :D

I mean you'd still have 3.07:1 in 6th :smirk: it'd still run 150+mph at 6000rpm

Imagine the shifting - it'd be like a 2 stroke motocross bike, yer hands'd be shifting like a man demented.

just fooling - have fun!

I'm only jealous till I get mine!

I just got through the 500 mile brake in on the 3:55 gears from unitrax, the car is a different car from the 3:07 gear, I understand if you are running 600HP this gear would not be the gear you would want, but until you get to the 600 plus HP, the car is more than the avarage driver can handel.I am 67 years young and still bench press 210lbs every morning, and have driven many fast cars but this car with the 3:55 gears is a real treat. Also I understand that there are a lot of ROE BLOWER cars that are running the 3:55 gears I can not amagin the G forse in a sporst car with this combo. You will not be dissopointed with the 3:55 gear. just remember be careful who does the gear change thes are different cut gears than most mechanics are not prevey to.
