Hello,

I'm new to the Viper board. I've been a ******** Chevrolet guy for the last 30 years, my last being an 02 Z06. The lure of this site and the look of the viper kept tempting me to make the change.

I viewed Ebay for awhile and contacted several dealers regarding their allocation for the one car they had, none of them knew a lot about the car. I finally contacted Bill Pemberton and in less than a week my new 02 Viper is in my garage. No smoke, no mirrors, no illusions, just a guy that knows Vipers and people. If you're looking to purchase a Viper, Bill is the only call to make (IMHO).

Vettes and Vipers are unique cars and I enjoyed my Z06, but the Viper is in a different class. I'm not sure about the exhaust, everything else is perfect. Thanks Bill!

I got my Viper from Bill, too. There aren't any "real" Viper dealers close to where I live and there are so many posts here about Bill that I decided to call him. I talked with him about getting a Viper with quite a few modifications done on it before I would fly out to pick it up and he said there would be no problem in doing them. My local Dodge dealer had issues with putting on some MOPAR performance parts on the Ram that I bought from them, and so did several other local dealers about putting on performance parts. At least Bill was willing to take my money.
I'm not sure if the price I paid for my Viper was the "best" price (if not, it was close), but I'm sure the service of having the modifications put on with no hassles (and at a decent price) more than made up for maybe not getting the "best" price on the Viper. And maybe I did get the "best" price on the Viper. I know I got the best overall service from Bill and am very happy with everything.

There are other dealers that are also held in high regard here at VCA and If you are looking for a Viper and live close to one of the other real good dealers I would also advise you to check them out, too. The dealers that advertise here at VCA help support this great site and there's also a listing of advertisers here, too, if you don't catch their banners at the top of the page. Blair, Nebraska is almost 800 miles from where I live, but I'll be glad to go there again for my 2nd Viper.

Yep. Stock exhaust *****! Do a search, and you will find out all you need to know about aftermarket exhaust. Your best bet is to go to a large Viper event, and listen to the different systems. If this is not possible, Corsa is a safe bet. It seems everyone who installs the unit, loves it. I know I do. Go to the webpage for a sound sample. http://www.corsaperf.com/

Later

P.S. - Don't forget to get some high-flow cats while your at it... Sean Roe has a nice set for $120-$145 each. http://www.roeracing.com/ These also will make the car sound even better.... Help the side sill stay cooler as well.

Congratulations FE GTS on the snake, I know you will love it. I am making that move as well from Vette to Viper soon.

I have heard many great things about Bill too but unfortunately he is rather far for me to consider. Can anyone recommend a dealer in the S. California area that has a good selection and where the snake will be serviced well? I am also considering purchasing from a private party.

Like someone on this site said, don't remember who; "Keep it between the lines "

Don't let the distance stop you from dealing with Bill, they deliver. I live in So Cal too and bought a new Viper GTS locally. Stay away from Valley Dodge for service and watch them carefully if you buy, they put a damaged wheel on mine after I checked it out and before I drove it away. The closest Viper Tech to you is also the best in the western US, Dan Cragin at 1-310-925-9579. If you want more help call me at 1-714-522-6052 or our local Viper club.

Congratulations on your FE Viper! I cancelled an 03 Z06 order to purchase my ACR.

I too talked to Mr. Pemperton but purchased my Viper(s) locally.

He delivered mine to Va. If he sold on e-bay, Bill would be one of those guys with 3500 sales and all positives on his feedback. Just search the archives if you don't believe me. TMB

Glenn, Thanks for the advice and heads up. I think Dan is in Marina Del Rey, from what I gathered reading the posts here. My way of buying a pre-owned machine is that I have to see it in person first..haven't made an unseen purchase yet. I wounldn't mind flying to NE to pick mine up and drive it back like MP of CT did, I am sure it must have been one ride to remember.

Picflight, listen up here. The whole deal is you DON'T have to see it. Most of us did not when we bought from Bill. Heck, I'm on my third car from him and I just met him a few weeks ago at VOI for the first time! That's the beauty of the new way of doing business he has created. It's about developing a flawless NATIONAL reputation for describing the car absolutely truthfully and being completely anal about making sure it is as perfect as described when delivered. I suggest you call and talk to him, if you feel you HAVE to see it, do a deal contingent upon viewing, fly there, drive back or have him ship it. Unless you are a Viper expert or a related automotive expert you are never going to be able to tell a great Viper from a mediocre one even if you do see it. This is one of the many reasons a lot of us are NOT going with local dealers, but deal with Bill and a few select others who have established goldplated NATIONAL reputations.

Congrats 195, We're driving #264 -- Really like the Red and White. Only change I've made is EBC brake pads. My only complaint is a squeaky clutch pedal, but understand this will go away with driving (otherwise I'll get it settled at the first dealer service).
