Bill Stephens at Mecum Comments on the Viper

Not sure how many of you caught this but Bill Stephens who provides play by play expert commentary at the major televised auctions and hosts "What's my Car Worth" made the following comment when this black 2006 coupe hit the block...

He says something to the affect... What can you say about this car... If you know someone that is having a bad day and complaining and such... Just take him for a ride in this thing through some twisty roads. When he gets back, he'll be so glad to to be alive that he will completely forget about whatever was bothering him

...and you wonder why people are in such awe of theses cars

He's very entertaining and funny and even my wife who doesn't really like Car shows enjoys his commentary.

Funny that in "auction speak", when you modify your OE car, you've "molested" it.

His wording is really bad but these auctions usually find higher bidders with OEM non modified cars, especially for older cars with original paint, low mileage and matching numbers. Mecum is my favorite too over B. Jackson as it has more realistic priced cars.

I agree on the certified original garage queen type cars... Some of those cars fetch crazy money... It does seem that there's a recent appreciation in the resto-mod and clone cars. I've seen some very well done clones that would really make it tough to justify the dollars for an original. Especially Cuda's Roadrunners and Challengers... Camaros and Chevelles too...

As Bill Stephens said at a recent auction... "Things are not always what they seem to be... Even Chastity Bono is a man now"
