Bitten (in a good way) - New Owners w/ PICS

My Dad just bought his first viper. He considers it 'our' car, which is not a problem at all for me.

Its an 05, silver convertible, about 22k miles on her. Body is perfect, cept for some scratches under the front lip, and she runs beauuuutifully.

Anyways, after waiting anxiously for about a week while it was being transported here from Reno, it finally arrived last night!

Enjoy some pictures, I will take better ones when I have some daylight and give her a wash. She is pretty dirty from the long haul.

Unloading.

This kinda bitten is okay, you don't want to taste the real bite. Nice car - congrats and enjoy. Ensure tires are new[er].

I was thinking the same thing. When I opened this thread, I feared the worst but glad to see it was this kind of bite. Enjoy the car, as we all know you will. They are great cars.

Thanks for comments guys!

The tires are brand new PS2's, dealer threw them on as a part of the deal.

If there was one thing we told ourselves we would do when we got this car, it is to respect the hell out of it.

We have never driven anything this powerful before, and we will respect it, and take the time to learn and get comfortable the car.

Oh, and we plan on becoming VCA members ASAP!:)

Maybe I should change the title. Dont want people to think we wrecked the thing.

The northern VA club is pretty active, you'll enjoy the car for sure!

Send me a PM if you ever need anything.

How do we join the NOVA club? We would love to meet and get together with some other owners around here. Maybe cruise around sometime.

Does anyone meet at the Sterling Chick-Fil-A or the Mananas Burger King?

When you join the national club, you just pick your local region. It’s all part of the same entity.
There’s a few that show up to Chick-Fil-A and BK. I’m normally busy on Friday evenings but I live in Manassas so I usually show up at BK on Saturday evenings. I’ll be there tomorrow.

The next club event is the horsepower challenge for charity down in Richmond on the 18th. More info can be found here.

Nice car, congratulations.

To me, the Viper is a bit tricky. It will lull you into a sense of security because, as you just drive it around town you start to think, "Hey this is a nice, easy going car. I don't know what everyone is talking about." Then you turn the wheel too quickly or you step on the gas for to beat a light and instantly you realize what a super car is!!

Don't let the snake sneak up on you. But once you get use to it it's a crazy amount of fun to drive.

Congrats! If you take your girl for a ride, dont be tempted to race anyone...well at least until you know the car better.

Just kidding. I walked into work this morning and got handed a international plane ticket. :omg: Packing tonight and leaving tomorrow morning.

Should be back for the horsepower challenge though. Hope to meet up with you soon.

The day your first Viper gets delivered will be one of the top 100 days of your life......

Enjoy your car - take a track school with your dad if you can. It's the only place you can appreciate how incredible the car really is.

The day you do a track school will be one of the top 10 days of your life.

Thanks all for the comments and replies.

I will look around at a track school for my Dad and I. I would love to do something like that to become more comfortable with the car.

We have pretty much spent the weekend cruisin' around town and hit a couple of back roads.

This car is like nothin I have ever felt. She handles beautifully and the power is right there whenever i need it. Simply an amazing car!

I think we put easily 100 miles on here just this past weekend. Gonna be a driver, not a sitter! :drive::2tu:
