Boy this is a great $80,000 car. Had it back one week from the rearend repair(spider gears) and the cv joint comes (busted) from together. Nice Sunday drive with the wife  But heck, we had it back two weeks from the balancer being put back on.

Anybody else have tons of wind noise around the top ? How about sqeeky door hinges....more of a scraping sound.

The halfshaft came from together = it broke.

One week after the new rearend was installed because of the busted spider gears.

One month after the balancer came off.

Tony did they upgrade the cross pin with a Unitrax Cross Pin?

I spoke to Devin at Unitrax. The cross pin is only part of the problem. The spider gears are weak. I'm working on finding a solution to the weak links in the car. I can tell you now, the car has several weak links to it. I'm going to find out what it takes to make it right.

Hopefully without spending a fortune.

Sorry, but no similar maladies here. My drivetrain has been trouble free. Including lots of hard miles including lots of tire shredding autocrossing today.

No, still the stock pin. FYI, the pin was ok, it was the spider gears that broke. The way I look at it, I am the warranty station on the blue/wht car and they deal with the 2004. I don't think I should have to spend $$$ to beef up a stock vehicle.

The Spider gear issue may very well have caused the halfshaft to weaken. If those gears breaking caused a lockup and/or reverse spin, the temper of the halfshaft may have been lost. A good example of this is why you should always have 2 Allen sockets, one for tightening and one for loosening- the grain structure of the bit changes the first time it is torqued to its capacity, and if you try to reverse this...SNAP!
