So I finally did it and bought a Gen IV! After driving my GTS ACR this past summer(sapphire blue w/ silver stripes) I just came to realize I don't like a fixed roof on my viper. Give me the open road with no roof!!! I don't even really miss my ACR that much to tell you the truth. I loved the look of that car but when it came down to it....Give me the roadster/vert.

So....SnakeSkin Green vert w/ "H" spokes, Nav, and Black/Grey interior. I know I know.....:needpics: 1908 miles on it and after tonight shes got 2004 miles on her. SOme scratches on the fascia but other than that she seems great. I am noticing a noise when I make right hand turns with the wheel hard over to the right. I have heard of a power steering issue with the '08s but not sure what that issue is yet.

Driving impression....I love it!!!!!! Gotta get used to the ETC. I stalled the damn thing three times tonight trying to figure it out. Great power, handeling, rides smooth. :D

SO those of you with GEN IV's out there. Let me know what might be normal and not normal for these GEN's. I've had two GEN II's (still have one) so I need the skinny on the GEN IV's. Would read my manual but dealership didn't send it along, same with the NAV. disc. Calling tomorrow. Pics to follow soon.

May I be the first SSG 'vert owner to officially welcome you aboard:D I'd ask for pics, but I've already seen 'er:rolaugh:

Still wondering if I should of bought my old ACR back or not. Some days I think YES and others I think NAW(those would be the days I'm out driving the SSG:drive:)

The car really is fatastic. Especially around 4k RPM's. SHe just comes alive. I almost put the car sideways a couple of times. THe car was low on gas so that was the first thing I did to put a little weight in it.

As many Gen4 guys have pointed out, the power delivery is totally different from the previous Gens. Although, if memory serves me correctly, "our" ACR had a bit more grunt at the lower RPMS.:drive:

Ah yes, top down, tunes up, and balls to the wall! That's the best way to enjoy a Viper INMHO.
Besides, unless you have a stopwatch the vert is the equal of the coupe on a road course. In fact I'ld take a good driver in a vert over a mediocre driver in a coupe any day!
Enjoy it and remember, "the sun shines a little brighter on a Viper":drive:
