I mostly seen people here on the board with experience from EBC pads, but is the anyone that have tried PF pads together with the stock brakes?

I've used several of their many compounds. The ACRs come standard with them. PFC is a top-flight brake company that doesn't worry about people who don't like brake dust.

A SEARCH would be in order.

My daily driver is a dodge ram with factory fred flintstone brakes.PF pads made a remarkable improvement over stock.Stopping power was great.LOTS of brake dust.I used them hard and they lasted 12,000 miles. Now have napa ceramix on the truck.Much better than stock. Not as good as pf.Almost no dust and longer wear. When I need pads for the Vipe they will be PF if avilable. To heck with the dust.I like to stop. Performance Friction has several compounds, I have not tried all of them but have tried the 93,90, 01, and 99. I use the 93 for the front and 90 for the rear. 01 is supposed to replace the 93 and 99 replaces the 90. If you do not have plans to heavily track your car then I would use the 90 in front instead of the 93 since they reach their max bite at a lower temp. The 93s need more temperature before they bite so it isn't the best on the streets because you don't usually get them hot enough and keep them at those hot temps. On the other hand, I have never experienced significant pad fade with the 93s even when braking hard and often on the track. By the way, I use 93s on the street but I just have to make sure that I don't succumb to impromptu street races because I will not have the braking power in an emergency when cold. I currently have the 01 and the 99s but I have not used them long enough to make a conclusion. My initial impressions are that the 99s are good but I don't like the 01s as well because they seem to take a lot more pedal effort for their max bite. I will be testing some more.

Finally as everyone has said, they are dusty.

Stephen,

WHERE do you get 93 fronts? I haven't been able to purchase them in 3 years! Do you still run stock calipers? That could explain a lot.

Hello Dean,

I have never used the PFCs on the stock calipers. I run the 4 Piston Alcons from Baer (Alcon B type I think) and use Wilwood Dynalites on the rear. I used to buy my PFC pads from Baer Racing until about 2 years ago when they were having problems stocking them. I then bought a couple of sets from a PFC dealer in Portland, OR. Unfortunately, I have forgotten their name and address. About last year, I bought a set of 01 fronts and 99 rears from Porterfield. Yes, that is not a typo, it is the same company that makes competing brake pads. I don't know what calipers you use but try calling them and see if they have it. If I conclude that the O1s are not as good, I hope I can still get the 93s. I find that the 93s bite with little pedal pressure while the 01s seem to be more progressive but take a lot more pedal pressure for it to bite. It's screwing me up with braking points and heel and toe but I'm still trying to see if I can get used to it.

I'm still running stock calipers all around. PFC 93 front / 90 rear is the best combination I've ever run. On track, I'm presently running Brakeman 3 or 4 in front, 3s out back. They work, they're lots cheaper than the PFCs, but they won't stop as well. Street - it's PFC 90's in front, Brakeman 3s in back. They squeek, but I don't mind that either.

I care about stopping and not about dust. The Brake Man #3 seem to work the best for the buck. The PFC 01 pads last almost 30% longer and cost much more but they only make them for the fronts on an 01 or later. Hawk and Pagids are good too.
