I think you mean Porterfield R4 (race pads) and R4S (street-strip pad.) I've had all... which surprised even me.
R4's can be used on the street, although the first application has this interesting feature where initial application causes "OK" braking, then a moment or two later, the braking gets better. Keep them warmed up and they are really good pads, although they eat rotors. And not cheap.
R4S pads are really for the street, they didn't last 30 minutes during a time trial before I was down to the backing plates. No dust, but not cheap.
EBC greens are soft; they don't have the extra bite when they warm up, they are dust free (relative to the other pads) and far less expensive. They have more feel; the braking is related to how hard you press (duh) while the others have a little warm-up effect during a braking event; same pedal pressure provides a little more grip as they warm up.
If you are moving from stock pads, then you'll like the EBCs. If you like the extra grip of a warmed up race pad, I don't think you'll get that.
(In my humble opinion while using up 6 front rotors, 2 rear rotors (not including what's on the car now) and 4 pad types over 3 years and 30K miles of mostly street, lots of AX, and some track time.)
