Assuming that you don't mind a little extra noise a cat back exhaust is a very popular upgrade. AFAIK most Vipers have smooth tubes, K&N's, and a cat back exhaust. You can get it all for less than $1500.

I think that it's a generally accepted fact that the K&Ns and smooth tubes give you 10 to 12 RWHP.. probably the most bang for your buck.

How much can you buy the smooth tubes and filters from Bill Pemberton (he's with Woodhouse dodge isn't he?). I'd be suprised if he could provide them for anything lower than my price of $134.90 for both hoses and filters. I'd like to know.

I got my K&Ns from Woodhouse when I got the Snake-Oyl pipes. I made my own hoses from the instructions in the "cookbook" on this site. I used Gates Vulco hose. Easy install.

Regarding the question if muffler replacement pipes for $539 is a good price, maybe I should look at offering those also. I saw a used complete 3" Borla cat-back system on the VCA classifieds recently for $600.
