Can a borescope be used to inspect water pump impeller?

I've never removed the water pump on my 2001 ACR, and the maintenance manual doesn't give me enough information with respect to internal baffles in the water pump. Does anyone know if it is possible to use a flexible borescope to inspect the impeller for cracking -- without having to remove the pump? I figured a partial coolant drain and the removal of one hose connection *might* give me visual access to the impeller using a flexible borescope.
