I'm stuck home the weekend, missed track day, wife says its too loud in the R/T with Belanger's.I'll leave the Nitrous off,and keep it the speed limit, and probably have trouble with the skip shift! If I wasn't a bit selfish I wouldn't own a snake. My wife agreed on a jury of my peers! That's you viper brothers and sisters

Sure, take her for a ride in it, she'll love it. Rear facing child seat, turn off the airbag, and have fun, you're ready to go!! She'll most likely fall asleep anyway, from the soothing sound of the beast!!!!

If you want her to hate you and become deaf at a young age, go for it. I wouldn't, she'll be scared to death. It would be like blind folding a person and throwing them in your trunk...that would scare the living crap out of anyone.

Next spring my son will be 3 years old maybe then my wife will allow me to take him for a ride??

The viper is a very intimadating car!! She fears "if" there was ever and accident that being a low to ground sportscar injurys would be greater than say in my Navigator.

I will pass on your experience and hopefully in the spring junior and I will be out and about.

At 3 years and 40lbs (guessing) he is now 35 lbs and 2yrs.
He is a big boy wears 4T. Can he next spring just get buckled in the stock seatbelt and the 5 pts (equalling 8pts)??
It would seem safer than the Fisherprice 5pt carseat.
thanks

"The Year Matters" Credit to JonB. 96 or earlier RT or 98 and new RT/GTS are Child friendly with a rear facing seat. My son had his first ride at 12 weeks in a 96 RT with Edelbrock headers Borla Cat Back (stock cats opened), ******* ride. Most important is a smooth ride. no neck strain on your infant. Their head is relatively heavy and neck muscles weak. So no hard braking turning or acceleration. The sound level may be an issue but you can use ear plugs or sound reducing products.

My son (Christian) is now 2 1/2 years old and loves his Viper rides, almost a daily event. I still pay attention to g forces and he rides in a Simpson childs seat.

Christian loves Vipers!

VIP-RT10 is 'smoking' the **** of wisdom...

Taking a 7 month old for a spin in a Viper is like putting a baby on the back of my motorcycle. Too much temptation and we all know how easy it can get away with us...
Plus, she'll never remember it..

Sorry,
Gerald

My wife's a Pediatrician. She just kind of shrugged her shoulders and said "why not?"

As long as the seat faces backwards and the air bag is off.

Thanks to all for the green light!I didn't feel the car was ear damaging from inside with windows up.I watched her face closely on startup and she didn't blink, actually opened her eyes wide and made a face like Wow.Sitting in the front seat and being able to look out the clear windows was exciting for her."DD's" a team player.Maybe chuck 97 GTS with post the photo's we took.

My $.02: I get tons waves and thumbs up when driving around with my 2.5-year-old son in the passenger seat... quite a bit more than the usual quota for being in a Viper. And he loves it -- says "Daddy, let's drive race car, go fast!!".

There's nothing wrong with taking a baby for a ride in a viper. Of course you are going to drive like you have a baby in the car, just like you do in your other vehicle.

Make sure the airbag is off if present. JonB got me a dissable kit for my 97 that doesn't have the keyswitch. It wasn't expensive, and took 10 minutes to install.

Gen I vipers without airbags actually have a 2nd lap seatbelt on the passenger side, just for baby seats. This isn't needed with the newer generation cars that don't have door mounted belts. If you find someone with a Gen I that doesn't need their lap belt, you can install it in a newer car. It makes it a lot faster to get the seat in and out.

I suppose if the car were extra loud, there might be a problem, but I doubt a stock viper is loud enough to damage a baby's ears. In fact, I'll wager that my 2.5 yr old can scream louder than your stock viper!

I took our son out for his first ride as soon as he fit into the forward facing seat. He loved it, sleeping very soundly while we rumbled around. I would have taken him out sooner, but his rear-facing seat had nasty ridges on the bottom and I didn't want to have any creases in my nice limey leather.

His older sister has been riding in the snake since it came home. She was 22 months at the time, and she knows that people treat her differently in this car. She perfected her "beauty queen wave" at the community car shows that first summer.
