Well my car finally arrives here this week. Its my first Viper, an orange 08 coupe. I want to get a few things for the car , thought I would start a post looking for thoughts, ideas to see what experienced Viper guys recommend.

If you have a cool part or a suggest upgrade or just a link to a cool part , let hear it / see it.

Wheels: I like to always get lighter than stock wheels when I change wheels on my cars. Here is a quick pic of a set of Forgeline wheels on another project I'm building right now.

I will be looking at likely using these again on the Viper with matching orange hoops and black centers. Forgeline has been great to work with ......

Question is what size wheels are Viper owners putting on the cars? I see some 20's , anyone with these care to share how the ride and handling has changed? Pros / cons.
In order to keep things "light" keeping the 19" may be the way to go??

Tires : If I go up to 20's what tire and tire size is recommended? ( I will likely only get to the track once, but like a good aggressive tire for the street)

Suspension : I usually use Eibach, quick and simple. These guys get me hooked up on all our projects but after coming onto this forum I see "motons" a lot and everyone seems to like them big time. Who is the guru on these and where would be the best place to purchase these? Forum sponsor?

Exhaust: I'm good here, going to make my own headers and mufflers.

Intake : Will pick up a K&N and give it a try, get it on the dyno and see what the HP gain is for sure.

Short Shifter : is there a certain brand? if so who? and where can these be found?

Is there any other parts that are necessary or recommended as a good clean / useful upgrade for a 08 coupe? I should mention I will be looking for a Viper driving school and give it a go......... after reading many posts on crashes and new owners getting into issues I know someone will mention it as a "must have "

Thanks much

Wheels - I run 20's. With the larger tire you may want to change rear gear ratio to something like a 3.55. Was told it was a similar feel to adding 80+ hp and it will also allow you to use 6th gear on our wonderful 100KPH Canadian highways.

As for tire, if you do change rim, try to stay with a PS2 tire. I ran Pirellis before my PS2 and all I can say is day and night. And for the street, you will likl find this to be the best all round tire and it is available in a 20" (one of the few brands that do make a 335/345 20").

I can help you with all that, and have alot in stock.

Thanks Mark . Will be in touch later today or tomorrow. Do you know if these Forgline wheels are lighter than the stock H style? In 19" ? in 20" ?

Thanks

The H wheel is very heavy so the ZX3R will be much lighter. A 19X13 is 26-27 lbs. depending on the hardware used.
