Cats or no cats?

I just bought a Corsa cat-back for my 2000 RT-10. I also picked up some high flow cats. I haven't put them on yet because I was trying to decide if I should have no cats at all. How much of a HP gain will I achieve having no cats vs. high flow cats? Will it be unbearably loud with no cats? If I don't have any cats on what must I do to keep the Serv Engine light off? Will having no cats screw up my air-fuel ratio from the computer? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks alot guys.

No cats!!! You will love it the car sounds bad-ass+you will gain 8-10 hp without them on. Call Sean Roe he will hook you up. 149.00 for the service engine light to go off. Easy to install. It's loud without the cats but not too loud where you can't bear it. I have a GTS not sure how loud it would be with your top off but you will love it. When the local kids ask you to rev up the Viper you won't be embarrased anymore. :D

Can those Viper owners that have removed the CATS comment on the following please. I am considering removing the CATS on my 2002 GTS to reduce sidesill heat, but have heard conflicting stories regarding what the O2 SIMS do. I have heard that they may interfere with all check engine light conditions, thus masking potential real engine problems. Can you confirm or deny this please.

I went with no cats for one year. The car stinks, bad. For some reason the exhaust in the GTS winds up rolling around the car and coming back in the windows. The 8 Liter engine spews enough raw hydrocarbons to choke a horse.

This year I added high flow metal substrate cats from Random Technology, great move. The heat is down from stock, the car runs strong and it is not offensive.

Think about it, when you pull up to a light and a car stinks you can pretty much look around you and figure out who completely disregards emmission laws...and that used to be me.

Since you already have purchased the high flow, put them on. You could just try running without them for a while and see if you have any exhaust.

I never have any exhaust coming in my cabin and my car does not have any cats.

Never had a problem with the smell. Converters are for ***** tree huggers and law abiding citizens. I am neither! ;)

No cats and B&B cat back sys!! I love it! Sure you smell alittle raw fuel, but personaly I'm a motor head and love the smell and the noise.
Look at my dyno numbers in my sig and you'll see it's WORTH IT!
Now as for the O2 sims, well I got the ones from Sean and haven't been totaly happy (with the sims that is). They have set off my check engine light several times, but I've bought an OBD II code reader and everytime it's been the sims. But not a big deal anymore cause I just check the code then reset.
My neighbors love it too, they have an easier time keeping track of me coming and going at all hours of the night ;) .

Sean Roe did some dyno testing and found out his high flow cats only took away one horsepower.
