Can anyone give me any tips on installing a CD changer in a 94. It looks like you can run the cable from the trunk into the interior on the pass side. I have not removed any interior yet to see if I am right. Where are the changers mounted from the factory. Thanks for the help!!

I'm don't think any 94's came with CD changers and I think the radio was an after thought at best.

The person I bought my car from had his mounted in the trunk. There was a round piece of wood cut to fit in the spare tire, it was glued down and the changer was glued/velcroed to the wood. I would strongly recommend some kind of shock mount. The cd skips pretty bad when hitting bumps with the solid mount technique. The wires are run from the trunk through the center console (just enough room if you lay them flat) to the main control unit.

Hope this helps

When I had my '94 I installed a Chrysler unit. Basically, the cable goes through a rubber grommet on the pass. side. I made up two brackets to hold the changer to the floor next to the spare tire. It mounted along the front to rear frame rail. Install instructions come with the Chrysler changer. I do remember that the changer in my car was mounted with the face up. Incidentally, mine was mounted to the floor of the trunk and I don't remember skipping being a problem.

Had a alpine changer mounted in the well to the right of the spare wheel in the 1994 it never skipped a beat, it was just velcro'd to the carpet, removing the CD cartridge holder was tight but wasn't a problem

jcaspar1's Socal description is right on target. I replaced the CD changer and head this week with Pioneer 8400 and a 12 disc changer. I didn't pull the old CD cable out so the space in the firewall was tight.

I was tired of the CD skipping and the crappy sound of the head.

Toughest part was installing the radio and then finding out it was recessed too deep for the face to open fully. Had to redo that part.

Savinglots.com had an incredible price on the system
