I changed my 96 RT fan this weekend, very easy job. I wanted to hit a few highlights for questions I had prior to the job.
1. Original fan was mounted with 6 studs, 3 high, 3 low. The studs are removable with minimal effort. The new fan uses 3 studs on top, 2 on the bottom. The middle mounting hole on the top is in a different location on the new fan but the stud hole is already in the radiator housing, just move the middle stud one hole to the left.
2. Cut the fan plug off the 96 fan and spice it onto the new fan. The wires use the same color codes. EASY
3. Mount the new fan.
4. My K&N carbon box would not fit with the new housing.
5. Time to complete 26 minutes, including airbox removal and replacement.
