Mine is pinhole leaking (coolant, not oil) and have decided to do it myself. Like so many things (especially Viper), if you want it done right, do it yourself.

have the gasket set on the way from Chuck the Wizard (thanks Chuck), after my local dealer explained that there are no gaskets in Canada, perhaps none in the US even. Very hard to find I was told, haha, until I called Chuck. As well my local dealer stated that the oil pan would not need to be dropped at all, seperate issues.
Chuck dismissed that notion in a hurry, and all is on the way to go on the car (with Oil pan gasket), the local Viper knowledge around here is starting to scare me......

Anyhoo, has anyone done this gasket fix? Doesn't seem too much work, yank the hood, take off the belt and related accesories, (little tricky with the damper removal, but I'll figure it out), drop the pan, and then replace the thing and button her back up.

Of course if it can go wrong it will, so I will alot a full day or 2 to doing it. I am far from a mechanic but had transmission swaps in Mustangs down to a few hours after putting in a new clutch every oil change, guess I am quasi-comfortable with a wrench!

Whadda think, am I nuts for even thinking of attempting this?

ahhh yes the "sponging" (credit Tony?) from the Viperclub continues........
