I just got done fixing my 2000 R/T 10 and the check engine light is still on. I took the battery cable off over night and it didn't go off. I had the car running with the air box off and thought that caused the light. Do I have to get the computer reset?? Help a new viper owner with this??? Thanks.

<FONT COLOR="Black">Chad - do you have a way of finding out what code set the light? There are some ODB-II conditions that will clear after being driven a few times after the condition has been resolved. The fault code is still recorded, but the light will go off. Do you have access to a scan tool?

PS: Nice backup rig on the '68! </FONT c>

I do have access to a scanner. Where does it hook up?? The light did go out for one drive, but is back on again and has been for the last few trips. The 68 Camaro does 1.2 60 foot times, and 9.25 quarter time at 152mph. I think NOS for the viper is next.

<FONT COLOR="Black">Chad - I think the connector is between the steering column and the kick panel. Given how crowded things are down there I am sure it is an unnatural act to find it.

My 68 is more pedestrian than yours... 327 mouse (mild). "Somehow" a Richmond 5 speed found its way in there in July. I decided I wanted to row my own. I have had this car since I was 17, so I recently decided to be nice to it. Took it all apart, went down to bare metal, then painted it a different shade or red than what was on it when I got it... Viper Red of course. (Had to get rid of the Guards Red I put on it in between things) Still in reassembly. Mostly down to trim now and the off to the interior shop for the full boat there.

Maybe I'll stick a 383 long rod in it next year. I don't want to be too nice to it.

Also distracted by looking for a Ford... need to round out my Big-3 motif. Still don't know why I kept the 68 Camaro and sold the '70 429SCJ Cobra when I got out of high school...
