Yeah, I may have gotten Vin # 000000000000002 of Big Dave's Gen2 Center Console fix, but the first one went to New York. I'm in Texas, got mine, and I bet Vin # 0000000000000001 is still in a truck.

Nonetheless, I put mine in tonight and had to do some slight mods. Way awesome product that saved me oodles of hours fabbing, but I thought I would share the 15 minutes I spent tweaking...

The red arrows in pic 1 show where I trimmed because it was binding up where the red arrows are in pic 2.

Also in pic 1, where the green arrows are, I whacked a tad off there after the pic was taken.

Used a hack saw blade and then buffed it with a finishing disk to make it purdy.

In the second pic, the Race Yellow arrows show where I trimmed down the body seam putty a little to as it seemed to be riding a little high there.

Very simple install. GREAT product.

Somewhere down the line some future owner is going to take the center console off and say "what the ****?".

No, actually, they'll receive an Excel spreadsheet detailing everything I've done to the car, A folder containing receipts for everything, and a CD photo album of every thing I've done.

Got that for your ride? :omg:

What is that part made of? Looks like a great idea.

It appears to be a urethane of sorts. Rubbery so it does have some give. Steel inserts where it screws to the underside of the console.

If you build your own you'll earn it at $4.99 per hour. My time is worth more than that and I bought the $100.00 time saver from Big D.

Hey Dave6666,

Great post and pictures !

It took us a whole lot of hours just making the mold. It appears that I will have to make a modification to the mold to "trim it back" a bit. Oddly enough, I did not have to trim or modify anything to make it fit in my car..... goes to show you that the cars are made one at a time and there are some differences.

I will trim back the pieces that we have already made. I'll pick up the mold tomorrow and get it modified so that it eliminates the need to trim more off.
