I was talking to the parts mgr at my local DLR.
He is trying to sell me the Mopar 3" cat back exhaust system, which he says is a dynomax, what ever, anyway I mentioned that I'm wanting to buy a Corsa cat back with the 4" tips.
He tells me that the larger tips create a problem with the rear opening. He says they melt the plastic body panel at the rear.
Now I took a look at an ACR they had just installed the Mopar system on and I have to say it looks like it would very possible for the larger tips to contact the body panel and melt it.
However, I don't hear anyone complaining about that on this forum and I told him that.
He just shrugged his shoulders.
Could someone with the Corsa system please shed a little light on this. Maybe relay your experiences or problems with the large 4" tips.
Thank you,
TJ

Absolutely NO problem so far - after a few thousands of miles with the CORSA on!

The Mopar system is made by BORLA. Only difference between that and the regular Borla is the tips / Sneaky Pete logo laser etched in them.

Most hear have either system. Corsa seems to be overtaking Borla in popularity mostly based on sound issues, as they may have done a better job at removing in cabin resonance throughout the RPM range. Borla still has a drone - although not in the 2500 RPM range like they used to - more like at the 3500 RPM range.

We both have Borlas and I was pleased with the HP increase we got. But the Corsa 3" conplete was not available at the time we installed ours, so I cannot say for sure which way we would have gone had we had the option.

Also, if I remember correctly, the Mopar system is quite a bit more $$$ than either the "stock" Borla or the Corsa - lots of cash for the laser logo....

This dealer you got is a real peach, huh?

Again...It is apparent that "talking" to the local yocal ain't workin out...There's an easy fix for this mis-information...buy your parts from the dealers and vendor's that frequent these forums...

Hey guys,
He's a real peach alright.
I don't do any business there that I don't have to.
He pissed me off when I had him order my K&N's a few years ago.
I never did buy them from him. It was taking weeks, so I got fed up and bought them at Parts Source for 2/3's the cost and got them in a couple of day's.
Haven't been back until a couple of weeks ago when I ordered the cover.
Now last night when I went to pick the cover up, I almost got into an argument with about these issues I've posted this morning.
I backed off because I thought I was right and didn't think it was worth it.
But this guy now seems to think he's an authority on Vipers. Well I'm no authority, but I can tell you I've probably forgotten more than he knows.
I asked him if he ever frequents this board, he said once in awhile.
I told him he might want to spend more time here.
Thanks for the feed back.

I know someone who can sell the MOPAR systems for 950 including shipping. Let me know if you are interested. That should be cheaper than either the borla of the Corsa.

As always, your advise is appreciated Jon and your service is superb. I am curious what "creative Canada invoice" you speak of. I have ordered parts from Canada before and had no problems what so ever. The mopar parts dealer that I referred to is from the States anyhow.

Have a Corsa on my 2001 GTS, been on there a year, NO Problems.
Fairly easy install, and it sounds like an exotic. No more drone at 2500 RPM. Quiet cruise until you lean on it! On decelleration
it pops and cracks, kinda like the old glass packs did. All stainless and those 4inch tips look menacing! Even the wife likes the way it sounds.

I ordered a Mopar exhaust. It will be here by the end of the week. I plan on installing it Saturday. I like the sound of the Borla over the Corsa, but I like it loud. The Mopar has better looking tips than the Borla [IMO]. I like the Corsa tips, but it's too mellow for me
