Ever since I bought my car last summer I get this kind of "creaking" noise (similar to an old houses floor) every time I start to accelerate from a stop.It comes from the clutch? the tires? no idea..does not seem to cause any problems but it is annoying.Car is stock. Gen 2 rt. 2000 rt.

I had a similar problem.... only happened when leaving a light type scenario.... Check the 2 bolts under the tranny... the crossmember bolts. Should be a quick / easy check.

I used to have a squeaking problem that drove me crazy:dunno:. Finally found that it was the gas pedal. Sprayed some WD-40 on the "pivot" area. No more squeak!:2tu:

Does it sound like it is coming from the rear???
There was a Gen1 that creaked over here and it was the needle bearings in the half shafts....Fitted my gen2 shafts and no more creaking.....

I'm also having the same problem..I'd also like to know does it matter what kind of lube/grease?

Lube the axles? Don't think there's anything on there to lube.

The u-joints are sealed, and also cheap. Put new ones on.

The slip splines on the shafts are sealed if the boots are intact. Nothing to lube there unless you are tearing them apart.

If you have suspension mount points squeaking you can use a variety of lubricants, from WD40 to silicone grease etc. As long as it does not attack the rubber bushing it really doesn't matter. And most common lubricants will not attack the rubber.

You will however, have a limited result just spraying something on the outside of the suspension bushings. It will wear away over time requiring re-application every now and them. Way easier tho than disassembling everything to get the lube on the insides of the pivots where it belongs. Just keep whatever you use off the brakes or rotating components where it could be slung on to the brakes.

You should do a complete re-torque of your diff housing and suspension if that has not been mentioned. I had no noise and all mine was tight, but you should check it.
