It has come time for me to sell my beloved 2000 GTS. While it is absolutely heart-breaking for me to do so, I have a black-on-black SRT-10 on order. As the lottery has failed to hit for me, I simply cannot swing them both (so much for emulating Chuck

). I have advertised it for well below book value on the Viper Classifieds. I will leave this "note" here for a couple days, as we normally do for VCA members that use our classified section of the site. FYI, Kelley Blue Book shows this car, with the miles, to be worth approximately $57,765 for a private party sale - and that is without all the MGW, Snake Oyl, and Northern California VCA goodies this car has (and all of the original take off parts too). I don't put a lot of stock in that and have advertised it for $51,000 to move it quickly. It has the full bumper-to-bumper 3/36 warranty until 11/18/02, then the best extended warranty coverage from Chrysler: MaxCare Gold for 7 years, 75,000 miles, ZERO deductible. That warranty pretty much covers everything on the car, not just the drivetrain.

If you are interested in finding out more about this beautiful GTS, please drop me a note and I will answer any questions you may have. Thanks for the read!

Chris

PS. I will also include the custom show plaque with the MGW medallion that was made for this car. It cost me $500 and will knock your socks off...

Seriously, sorry to hear about the breakup, but I hope the new snake is all you've ever dreamed it would be.

Lets keep this up at the top a little longer......

Chris, I'm sorry to hear you have to sell your viper to get a new one. Your GTS is a great car and the person that ends up with your car will be very happy. You have taken great care of it.

Look at this avatar for another view of a "sister ship" as the boat ads say. Chris doesn't know it but a lot of the pictures he posted when he purchased his car influenced my color choice a few months later. As a side note, there were only 119 total Black/silver GTS coupes made in 1999 and 2000, the only year black or black/silver were produced in a GTS, thereby making it a relatively rare color, I was really surprised at VOI, I believe I only saw 2 or 3, one of them Chris's car. I have attended almost all of the activities in the MD/VA region. I have never encountered another and I have never seen one on the steet, the first time I saw a twin to my car was at VOI, and it was Chris's car. His car is a beauty and you will NOT see yourself coming and going in this combination!

beauty of a car and im sure itll get sold easily. as for your 03 i ordered a black as well but i opted to keep my silver 99 after much contemplation (so now i got to dump a black 03). from what im reading, the 03 is still noisy, hot, and hella fast so to me, yep, you still own a viper, LOL.

Chris -

I know the feeling, but the time has come

. We all have our days of departing with our favorite toys ... always look ahead and never look back to second-guess your decision. I know I can say with a clear conscience anyone who purchases your Viper will have one of the best cars they can find and the best person to deal with!

Best of Luck,
Doug

I remember seeing the first pics of the Black/Silver GTS in the Dodge brochure. It almost made a GTS guy out of me! I had to have stripes painted on my old RT just to make me feel better. Hopefully the 03 will make you feel the same way.

Nah, then I would just say I was crossing over to the nursing home...

And thanks to all for the kind words. I have already had a few folks express interest in my GTS. I also forgot to mention that it has the Mopar car cover and carrying bag, is hard-wired for the Valentine 1 radar detector with remote display mounted on the steering wheel, and is a non-smoker car (ashtray and lighter are still virgins). Sigh...
