Thinking about moving to the area, have family out there. Obviously, at this point I don't own a Viper, but I plan on it really soon. Possibly getting it before I move out there, in the next 2 months. But, what I wanted to know, is how the Viper does out there in TX as a daily driver, and if its safe sitting in parking lots, etc. Because, I have two options. I was thinking of selling my truck, and getting the Viper as a daily, or, if its possible financially for me, i'd keep the truck, and get the Viper and keep it in storage during the week. Because, i'd be staying in an apartment for a few months till I get settled, and I don't want to just let the Viper sit outside. The apartment complex is in a nice area, and gated, but inside there is no garages, it would sit outside.

Any input and advise would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!

I drive mine almost everywhere and I have not had a problem. I think it would be fine for a daily, but I would always have a second ****** car to drive around. I would say to sell your truck and buy an older Ram and use the difference for a down payment on the VIper.

There are some places I would not want to drive a Viper. Neither would I want to leave a Viper in the parking lot at the airport if I had to leave town. There are a couple of days each winter when the roads ice up that driving ANY car is dangerous, much less a Viper. All in all, I would recommend a second car, that way you have the option to drive it as much as you would like, but have a ****** car for those Home Depot runs.

My brother moved from Orange County to DFW a couple of years ago and have never regretted it.

My advice would be to get the lay of the land out here first. DFW is just like anywhere else in that there are great, good, bad and $hitty areas. I would experience your neighborhood, work area, shopping and recreation places before getting your VIPER. Then you can determine if you need another vehicle for a daily driver to keep your VIPER safe and maintain your peace of mind. If you can't wait to get your VIPER due to a great deal or other issue, I would do as you stated and put it in storage. I would not keep it in an apartment parking lot as you would be asking for trouble no matter where you're located. Apartment complexes are too high density and there is too much non-resident human traffic that will be attracted to any VIPER...with good or bad intentions. My .02. Good luck and welcome to the GREAT state of TEXAS! :D

YEs...our cars in traffic are not the most fun...but if your commute doesn't call for a lot of stop and go traffic then you should be just fine.

I drive mine every day. You really do want a second vehicle though. Just for the crazy weather days if nothing else, hail, occasional ice, bad storms. Even light rain makes me question driving it. I have no problem driving in the rain, it's all the other fools that I don't trust.
