If you are using one, how much space are you heating and what does it cost to this thing? Electric.

If it's an entire room electric heater versus a "space" style electric heater, you can bet you **** that it will make that electric use meter spin like crazy!
Don't recall ever seeing anything larger than 1500 watts though. anything larger would require a separate circuit heavier wiring etc

Hey Randy,

Last year I installed an electric in wall heater in my 3 car (35'x24') garage which is under the house and has 2 exterior walls plus 3 garage insulated garage doors.

The heater I got at Home Depot, not expensive, is 4000W @ 240 volt. Needs its own 240 circuit which I installed myself. It installs in the wall between 2 wall studs. Has a thermostat to turn itself on and off to regulate temp.

Last winter I think I kept it around 60-65° and my electric bills went up $20-$40/month.

Let me know if you want any pictures or more info. You are more than welcome to come over and see it too if you'd like.

I was also debating the install of a garage in-wall heater, and had seen the 2000W/240 amp version of that unit (for $84) I have a smaller, 20'X15' detached garage, and I figure that the smaller unit should be fine for me.

I think that the general rule is 10W per sqft, but it does depend on how well insulated the garage is, and what the outside climate is like (mild winters here).

After thinking I realized that my electric is $20-40 more than SUMMER bills (which include A/C) Still worth is for me. Here are some pix.
