Sounds great!! If they decide to build it, how long will it take to be in production? Ugh. I hope I don't like it too much or I might have to put the SRT purchase on hold...

Re: DCX

Well if they do build it, I hope they leave off the wing.

Edit: OK so wait... is this a private aftermarket car, or is it an actual DC creation?

Re: DCX

Could it be DC is worried about the '06 Z06 rumored to be pushing 500HP due out 2 years from now. Time to raise the bar

Sounds tremendous - if they can make it so people can live with it on a daily basis - INSTANT MARKET. There's a lot of people who would be interested in that.

Re: DCX

The October Mopar mag has the scoop & a pic of an "SRT-10" motor with an intake that looks kind of like like this on top except that instead of the air coming in through those tubes in front it comes in from a hood scoop box box that surrounds those 10 tb's:

Re: DCX

I have a feeling the 'roof' and the engine work will be released at the same opportunity (Ford GT / C6 vette production starts)

Damned well better be! Even more reason to drive my car for 2-3 more years (to ~100k) miles, then get an SRT!

Re: DCX

Think ahead guys, try to think like DC marketing, this car will be at SEMA in November and with the rollbar and ANOTHER 50+ hp it will be ready to race, then see it introduced at VOI8 in the fall of 2004 AS A PRODUCTION 2004. THEN.....what are they gonna do for VOI9?? Hmmmmm, let's see...that would be in the fall of...yes, 2006? Guess what they will bring to the party that year?? What a coincidence, the Z06 500hp Vette, and the FordGT will be out the same month? And based on what we KNOW Jason Heffner and Doug Levin and Sean Roe can do as privately owned tuners............How about a 700HP Street Competition coupe??? I'm betting on it. And you gotta give it to DC, this is gotta be like shooting fish in a barrel with the potential of this platform and the engine. Somebody in the know at DC oughta save this post and buy me a drink at VOI9.

Re: DCX

Agreed. The new Motor Trend puts the Ford GT at about a 11.7 quarter mile and 0-60 ~ 3.7 seconds. That's very close to what MT got for the current SRT in their supercar shootout a few months ago. The SRT is already a fantastic overall package (brakes, handling etc.) and an extra 50hp is just what it needs to be ahead of the Ford in performance.

I think we all realize that when the GT and the C6 are released there will be a large number of magazine comparisons entitled "America's Supercars" or something like that comparing the SRT/GT/C6. I hope DC wants to stay on top of the heap, and 50hp would probably do it.

Re: DCX

Doesn't the Ford GT come out as a 2005 model a year before the 2006 C6 Z06 and "hopefully" the hard top Viper?

Re: DCX

Hello!

WOW, this is what I always hoped D/C would offer us! I have said for a long time that Viper/PVO was missing a lot of profit by not offerring OPTIONS we could order. It takes (for me anyway) 6 months or more to get a Viper when I order one (I'm on my 3rd now). Built "Especially For.." on the sticker. Why not offer some basic goodies, performance or otherwise? Of course, "go fast" stuff has to meet the EPA rules, and that could complicate the choices.

I love having a roadster, but it is a real hassle to equip it to go on a track! Having these goodies engineered in and street legal with warranty sounds fantastic!

Any pics? How much do you think it will cost, and when might I be able to order one?

Now, if they'ed only fix the heat problem and install the 3M protective film as standard...oh yeah! :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa:

Thanks,

Jim Wallace
