I have had an intermittent check engine light, usually just after starting car when it is hot. Scanner lists code P1296, "5 volt output to MAP sensor open". Does anyone have experience with this code? Will a change of the MAP sensor generally solve it? I ran through the MAP sensor test per the Service Manuel and it seemed to suggest that the sensor was bad. I would rather not take it to the dealership for a simple MAP sensor change as it will take them a few days no doubt.
Thanks

As long as you are getting 5V TO THE MAP Sensor and ground is at 0V compared to chasis ground, I think you can safely assume that the MAP Sensor is bad.
