Re: Differences between \'99 and later ACR\'s....

Search the forums on "ACR rattle" and check the build date on the 2000. I have a 2000 with a 12/99 build date and it has the Koni setup on it. At some point Dodge switched. I know it's been covered before in the forum.

Re: Differences between \'99 and later ACR\'s....

see:
http://www.thomasser.org/viper.

there were some significant changes 1999 to 2000.

Viper related:

forged pistons changed to cast pistons
cam mellowed

ACR related:
shocks change from koni's to dynnamic suspensions
spring rates changed
from 400 ft/lb f 750 ft/lb r
to 500 ft/lb f 1100 ft/lb r
new higher capacity oil pan added in 2000

The latter suspension modifications may be what your acquaintence was referring to.

Hope this helps,

Jason

99 thru around March/April 2000 had Konis. The new system and change in the springs has gone on since then. Many track guys feel the earlier models are much, much easier to adjust for the track, as few have figured out the optimal set-up for the newer ones.
