Do I need a bra.

Ok another road trip question.

I have a brand new bra never been STRAPPED ON. I am going on a road trip should be about 3000 miles. I have a 2000 RT paint is in very good condition but there already are a couple TINY rock chips about the size a pencil point dot. And some scratches you can see under floresent light. These are on the very front of the car.

Will a bra rub and cause more paint wear? Am I just better burning my bra and just figure on a repaint in the next 50,000 miles.

Will a black bra on a red car be considered passe?

The flithy hippy days are over, wear your Bra. Make sure your Bra is tight or flapping will occur and cause you discomfort when you see the marks left.

I dislike them. In fact, I hate them. Most scratches and nicks are NOT going to be noticed by most people. But everyone will notice that ugly bra and that beautiful car.

I have 38K (many highway) on my 98 RT/10. It's got nicks, pinholes, some dull spots, but unless you go over it closely I'm the only one that notices. Keep polish on it or spray it with pam so the bugs wipe off easily.

I had a brand new bra. Came with the car. Sold it.

If you are going to use the bra, ditch the hood section of the bra, it will damage your paint from flapping in the wind. Don't lean on it or the debris that gathers in there will scratch your paint. Shake it out at the end of the day.

I used to get a lot of small paint chips in the facia. But I've picked up a trick that has really cut down on the number. I pile on several coats of plain old turtle wax onto the fascia. Usually a fesh coat before going on any long drives. And I just make a point of not following too closely behinnd traffic in case pebbles are being thrown from their wheels. It really works. I haven't gotten any new chips in the facia since I started doing this. I don't recommend turtle wax for the rest of the car, but it seems to work well enough for front protection from chips.

If you're worried about nicks, wear the bra. BUT, try putting 2" wide celophane tape under all the places that might flap or drag, all sharp corners, all edges, etc. The bra costs $200, so put out $2 for the tape. Hurts nothing and the tape gets beat by the bra. I did it before clearbra, and never had a problem at all.

Forget the bra, just let it all hang out, just like Canadian Women!!!

I don't care for the look of a bra on any car, but that's just me.......and possibly worse damage from trapped dirt brushing up against the paint, covered area not fading with the rest of the car, creating a paint mismatch , etc......

As soon as I posted this I ran out to the garage and ripped open the bra box.

Then I quickly rapped myself in it. Closest thing I have to a flame suit.

I pretty much figured my red Tampa Bay brothers would put a whopping on me about this but I didn't know it would be one right after the other. Can we just say ok I got 'jumped in' and leave it at that.

Thanks for all the info. I think I will go braless but I will wear a top. Then take it off when I reach the great white north and show those people what an old wrinkley tan looks like.
