I just took off the complete header/exhaust system on my 97 GTS. Here are the weights for the system
(2) Headers @ 21 lbs ea
(2) turn-outs/cats @ 16 lbs ea
(2) Mufflers/turn-ins @ 14 lbs ea
(1) rear exhaust @ 26 lbs
For a total of 128 lbs
I weighed the car with Balenger headers/exhausts and no cats. The 50 lbs of weight saved with the new exhausts was offset by a new roll bar. The car weighed 3400 even with ten gallons of gas. A 94 Gen I (also 10 gal of gas) weighed in at 3480. The convertible top was on.
Going one step further, the Purner skinnies save an additional 42 lbs, therefore, without driver the car would weigh 3358.
