Looking at a black coupe an seller says there is no warranty on the painted body panels. Says Dodge purchased the car back from original owner because he was not happy with the factory paint job.
Anyone ever hear of Dodge doing this? I've read a lot of complaints about the paint on some cars, but never heard Dodge stepping up to fix/correct.

First off...I'm not so sure...through the years, we have had a couple of members purchase Vipers that were known, documented "buy-backs" from Chrysler. I vaguely recall one such SRT-10 that involved a paint issue. In these cases, the new owners were well informed, happy with the initial the price, and even happier with their Vipers long term...at least one of which carried a warranty. I would want to see the Viper's VIN-determined history as currently supplied by Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge thru Dealer Connect with my own eyes before getting too excited.

Dodge has done a buy-back before for me...but not my Viper. Had a Dakota 5.9 R/T (hence my screen name), when they mis-represented the tow rating of the truck. I owned that truck for 1 year, and only paid for insurance and gas...they even paid for all the mods I made to the truck. Out of the 7 vehicles I've owned (2 Honda's, Lexus, 2 Toyota's, etc.), I've never loved any like my R/T and my Viper. Go DODGE!!!
