Does anyone sell a Fuel Pressure gauge that fits the Shroeder valve / pass side? ---

I run a fuel pressure gauge off the shroeder valve on another one of my vehicles. A forum vender sells one that just connects right in place.

Does any of our vendors sell something like this?

Do you use one?

Its just easy to see the fuel pressure this way vs connecting a tool.

The valve area looks to be plugged with a brass fitting pointing towards the center of the engine on the passenger side intake manifold, right?

Thanks :) ---

If you are saying you want a permanent install, I believe it is a standard 1/8" npt. Remove the valve and thread in a transducer.

Is a transducer what the gauge will mount to?

The shroeder valve on my other vehicles looks like a tire valve ... and the gauge hooks up to that. ---

The Schrader valve is removed and the electronic transducer is screwed into the 1/8 npt hole - that is for a permanent install. There are some handheld fuel pressure gauges that plug into the Schrader valve - pick your poison.

Electronic? I definately want a permanent install but I thought it would be a mechanical gauge that is just ran off the pressure.

Where do you hook up the wires?

I will find a couple gauges on Summit and post on here to see if they will work.

Thanks for the help ... I really want to set this up soon :) ---

I fitted a permanently installed fuel pressure transducer in place of the Shroeder valve a couple of years ago.
It's wired through the bulkhead to the instrument panel and has a low pressure alarm too.
It also monitors gearbox temperature (seperate channel of the same instrument).
If you're interested, just say and I'll take some photos. :2tu:

The images are a bit grainey but I think you'll get the picture. ;)

The kit I used was SPA - website here for more info under digital guages
http://www.spa-uk.co.uk/(S(hjarhohrrvsonsod3cfjahfp))/design/gauges/default.aspx
I used instrument DG212.

Install was pretty straightforward although sealing the 1/8" pressure transducer leak-tight was challenging - it's 1/8" BSP which is a parrallel thread, not taper.
Good luck.

I totally couldnt figure out what you guys meant by Electronic ... thats what was confusing me. Thanks for the pics!!!

I was originally talking about putting a MANUAL gauge on there so if I am having a no-start condition I can just glance at the gauge and make sure the pressure is reading where it should be.

Something sorta like this :

"Will directly screw into any 1/8 NPT female port." So I will only need to purchase a 1/8 NPT Female Port for the intake manifold ... then the gauge and I am set?

The gauge is 1 1/2" in diameter ... do you think I will have clearance issues with the hood? Your transducer and plug look pretty close.

If all you want is local pressure indiction then go for it.
You are right though, space under the hood at the connection is tight but at $18, it's gotta be worth a try.
Good luck. :2tu:

So, what I would do if I was looking at something like this, and no one could say that a specific gauge works is as follows. Get a plastic cap off some spray can if you can find one about 1.5 in diameter and stick it where you think it will sit. Maybe duct tape it in place. Then lightly ball up some aluminum foil and put it on top where the hood might touch. Then close the hood and open it and see where the foil crushed to, or see if the plastic gauge simulator moved. Do the foil trick again when you actually mount the gauge to find what your clearance is. Take into account how much the engine moves when you rev it or dump the clutch. It looks too close to me for a permanent, direct mount gauge

That is GREAT advice ... I will try that and let you all know what I find out.
