Im usually not one to post this stuff, but would like to keep someone else from getting crap. I ordered (2) Gen 3 guage pods for the steering wheel from MBX. Guess what shows up at my door...... (2) Gen 2 guage pods which do not fit.

I had ordered one for me and one for ILLSMOQ. When the Gen 2 pods arrived, they were actually pretty cheap and didnt look that good.

I called Mike at MBX, after a unpleasant conversation, he said return them ,he'll check them out and refund my money. He didnt want to do a refund. I told him they screwed up, not me and after seeing product, I didnt want it. Regardless, he said he would take care of it. Well few hours later, I get a email from some girl, maybe his wife or assistant. She says , NO refund, go read the website, no refunds allowed. I said Im not having it and im send ing them back and expect a refund as there product isnt very good and a credit wont do me any good as they dont have any other Viper products.

So I sent back the pods. Ive allowed almost 3 weeks to here from them. I just emailed and now they say they never got my return package. In all my years of online purchases, Ive never had anything "lost" in the mail and suddenly, they havent recieved my package. I call BS. Anyways , all this over $120. Its not the money, but the principle. Im in retail service and I know its a hard business, but I also take care of the customer, No matter what.

Anyways, Id stay away from them. Im going to just assume Ive lost my money and move on. I heard A&C Performance has a nice Billet pod, I think Daves Big brakes carries them. From now on, Im sticking to VCA Vendors.

Mike, sorry to hear of your experience, but also thank you for posting it. We NEED to know who to avoid and as you said, to stick to well-known vendors here. Hope you get this straightened out (I have no doubt you will)....juli

Thanks,
And this is more of just a warning of what happened and how they handled it. I know Ive dealt with vendors that others had a problem with ,but I had great success with. I know things dont always go well. I just want to get it out there that I found nothing positive dealing with MBX.

I have a few problems with this story and I am not calling BS on anyone but before we oust a decent guy (Mike Baxter) maybe we should hear from both parties. I have Mikes dual pillar pod in my gen 2 and it looks great, fits great too. I know many happy with him and his products. Did you paypal him money or use a CC? If a card was used just call the CC company and dispute. If it was paypal and you can't prove you returned the part with a tracking number then your screwed. Curious to hear Mikes side of things.

Also, if you think you need to deal with a VCA supporting member/vendor to get a quality part or service you are sadly living in a closet.

Not saying to deal JUST with VCA supporting vendors...just that they're the ones who most of us deal with. It's ALWAYS good to hear from both sides, as you say...there's 2 sides to every story for sure...so we can know the bad AND the good from a vendor.

Mike you should have taken some pics of the products and returned them by certified mail.....if they advertise on Ebay would be interesting what kind/number of negatives they have in their profile....

Vendors can't advertise here unless they are "supporting" so by saying WE need to stick to well known vendors here would imply "supporting" members only.

Although I agree it is good to support those willing to support the site, I also believe that they are many great vendors out there that carry products for these cars and who are not "supporting" vendors. To discredit those simply on that aspect would be doing both parties a disservice. That is how I am reading your above highlighted post. If I am wrong, I apologize.

Yes, you are mis-reading...I am NOT saying to buy ONLY from supporting vendors...there are other vendors who we buy from who are NOT on this site. I would never discredit other vendors at all!!! You are right, that WOULD be a disservice, and that it not my intent. Sorry to mislead! ~juli

Well, the returned package should have a tracking number, either through UPS,FEDEX, or USPS. I hope you get your money back. Sometimes it isn't the money but the time lost that matters.

It was sent back USPS, Im at work and Ill have to track when I get home. It was sent to me with a $5 USPS labe, so I just returned it USPS.

And yes, there are a million places to buy stuff, I bought from Iforged, had great success, yet others havent. I just know that most of the stuff out there, you can get thru guys that are supporting Vendors. And there seems to be less hassle. Ive backed a Vendor when others had problems.

Long story short, I ordered something, the wrong part was shipped. Human error, maybe, but it hasnt happened to me before from other vendors. I was not at all happy with how there handling it. Decided Ill at least let others know of my situation. Take it for what you want. I lost $120

You can also get these exact same parts through some of the site supporter vendors as well. One of the benefits they sometimes bring is that they are typically better about problem resolution when there are issues.

I have the pillar and steering wheel pod for my Gen II and I thought the price/quality was actually pretty decent for something that was Viper specific. Can't remember if I got them from PartsRack or Roe Racing.

I have to say, I had nothing but a good dealing with MBX. We have to write the good with the bad. People need to know that also.

How did you pay. It has only been 3 weeks so if it was a CC you should be covered.

Paypal.
And I'll be the first to admit, I screwed up by not requiring a signature or something like that when I sent return package. Anyways, Im postiing the bad, others can post the good. Im done, moved on, just be careful, I guess with any vendor.

Call Parts Rack to get what you want. Call on a Monday morning for best price and service. He gives his best to the week's first few customers.

I was aware of the quality of these parts before I had Mike order one for me. It's the only option for that type of gauge pod so I'm fine with putting one in my car, sand and paint...it'll look good.

The wrong pods were delivered simple as that. As for Mike getting his money back, well you live and you learn...at least it was a small amount of money.

haha..your boy there took me for around 200 bucks on some defective o2 sims last year. I sent them back for him to come up with a solution. I haven't seen the sims or my money since. Oh well, live and learn lucky it was a small amount of money.

Just imagine getting a rim worth alot more than what you spent with problems... and the seller... says you did it.....cough..cough...Iforged...

I think everybody should know how the seller handled it... I personally based on your experience would not trust the seller..

Thanks for your warning...

Joe
