Door Comes Open After Starting

2005 SRT10.

When I get in the car and close the driver door, then start it, the door then comes open. Even tried locking it, it still comes open. Happens every time.

Any thoughts on how to fix this? Thanks.

Yeah, I found those when searching but could not find anything specific to the Gen III. Guess I will have the dealer look at it next time it is in.

Will ask in the Grail Trail.

Really. So we are now going into serious threads and crapping them with this BS? OK. Game on.

Oh don't get butt hurt, its all in good fun. I am sorry FrgMstr that I have hurt your feelings, I won't make a red comment towards you again. Funny how you chose to single me out yet the post above said the same **** without the red take. That's cool though, pick and choose!

You singled yourself out by driving the slowest car in the group. And whoever put the stripes on there should be beaten, those are not near wide enough to cover up all the yellow.

Aww are you still upset?

In my opinion the door has been shut on this debate, wait, your door is still open. :lmao: Sorry dude. No defective doors on the Yellows.

On a serious note all crying aside did you call Tator?

So thoughtful.

I am happy that you have learned to use Google Images so you do not have to work so hard at composing sentences. I would suggest you not post and drive, but obviously you will never be moving fast enough in a yellow Viper to actually hurt anyone. Thanks for thinking of the children.

Those earlier posts all had to do with the well-documented Gen 2 issues.

Gen3 is going to be a body control module / alarm EEU issue.

Fresh battery in FOB? Start with that.
Perform the ignition-key alarm manual reset under the drivers outside mirror.
Then Unlock; *** Lock; *** and Unlock *** the car with the fob. 30+ seconds delays after ***
***Start.

Plz Report back ? Good Luck

My door doesn't want to shut some times. I'll try to shut it, and it will bounce back like there is a rubber stop that bounces it back open. Looks like the latch in the door doesn't want to stay shut. The dealer already replaced a switch in the door or something, but not resolved :(

So the consensus is that it's the BCM?

Replaced key fob batteries. - No Change.

Did ignition key alarm manual reset and unlock/lock procedure as you lined out. - No Change.

Did notice something that I had previously reported incorrectly. The door opens while the car is doing its pre-ignition start up routine, not when I press the Start button. (I just usually press the button during this time.) So it is popping the latch on the door while it is going through its chiming after you turn the key to the full on position.

Pretty much rules out the alrm unit, and points to the BCM.

Malu however could be the window-detent (auto-lowering) issue, also a BCM function.

Hmm...I would have to guess BCM, since the latch itself is reluctant to stay latched, when I use my finger (it releases instantly). I wouldn't think this is part of the window-detent?

Please look to see if the window glass performed the needed 'automatic drop-down', to clear the rubber seal. If not, you DO have a rubber stop hitting the glass! And this has happened with some frequency. An adjustment / BCM Issue
