Drivers door latch works then doesn\'t

My drivers door latch worked fine in the summer, then the car sat through the winter in my garage, now it opens when it wants to, battery is ok, passenger side button works, but my drivers, press it three or four times before it pops open, does anyone have any ideas, maybe when the warm weather is here?

Going through this exact problem!

There is a relay swtich on the inside of the latch that seems to be held on by wishfull thinking. CAREFULLY (I stress this because I accedently broke mine) unscreew the two front screws of the benzel (about where the mirror is - but - of course - on the inside) and the center screw from under the silver latch part itself. There are then four small torx head screws holding the actual latch unit in place. When you pull the unit off (this is the delicate part) look in the back and you'll see what reminded me of a toy train toggle switch (I can take a pic if you need it.) On mine one of the *things* (for lack of better words) had snapped which cause the unit to bend instead of toggle. If you're getting 50% success then you may only need to re-glue or secure that part.

Its a ten second job, you'll need a phillips head screwdriver and a small Torx driver and a little care.

This does sound the same, also if I just hold the button in (sometimes) it will pop open, then it actually gets stuck between latched and unlatched, sometimes it work sometimes it doesn't, I will check this out, and let you know

Well I printed all that you said to do, got my screw driver set, my torx set, went and got a drop cloth so nothing bad could happen, tools slip, drop etc, went to open my door and it worked, shutit, it worked again, went in the house , back out worked again, couldn't get it to stop working now, so I'm going to keep these directions in case but I'm gonna leave it alone right now so thanks Bonkers, I'll let you know what happens

Good call FLX - if it ain't broke don't fix it... a moto I have a serious time following myself. I'll probably be posting pics in my gallery over the next few weeks if you need a visual aide.
