Yeah...if he is legit, too bad he used the image of a GEN II motor! No matter what, that is NOT a mistake I would expect/accept from someone who says "THIS MOTOR HAD LESS THAN 12,000 MILES BEFORE I REPLACED IT WITH A 65OHP RACE MOTOR".

Sure looks like a scam.

A good thing to do on these eBay deals is ask the seller to take a picture of the item with something you request, like a can of soda setting on a valve cover. In this case, I think it's a total scam. It actually looks to me like the engine is a model on a display stand on a desk--can you see the picture frame adjacent to it?

Just click the other cheek,

Ben

yeah, that's just a picture of G2 motor, i mean maybe he got NO camera or having hard time to find a G1 motor picture, the best way is ask him if you can pick it up in person..

I emailed the seller... it's just a file photo. He says its legit (although I would definitely buy this thing Escrow). Maybe you could just have a local VCA member swing by and take a look at the engine for you?

Mike, the picture they are using is a picture somebody took from CAAP on the engine stand in the presentation room. Hopefully the viper owners that toured the plant should remember where it was in the room by the door, there were frame pictures and posters on the wall next to the screen for the video presentation. If not then I'm getting old and can't remember ----!!

The guy sound foriegn the way he writes and talks. Sounds like a scam to me. I see these kind of people all the time on ebay, they sell many small dollar items to get good feedback and then all of a sudden they sell a big ticket item.

Scammer to me. Get his vin number of the car and cross check with the MVD to see who owns the real viper.

Ab,

PLEASE tell me you aren't assuming that this is a scam solely based on the fact that he sounds foreign :) I do agree with you about the cross checking, though...

The guy just sent me a legitimate picture of the motor, if anyone is still interested in bidding on it...
