My light stays on! I was told it ws because of my headers. There's supposed to be a box or something you can purchase that tricks the computer into keeping it off but I haven't gotten it yet.
We ran no codes on it. I am just taking his word for it right now. He also races... he has seen this alot. The box thing is intresting...something I am going to look into.
I just want to make sure there is nothing else wrong with the car and if any of you other RACERGUYS have had the same problem.!!!
I have a 2000 GTS with Borla Exhaust and Edelbrock Headers. After they were installed the check engine light came on. I was told that I needed the Mopar Performance Controller. They said that would take care of the problem. I had it installed and the light has been off ever since.
I understand that the new controller can now read the fact that there are after market items on the system and makes adjustment for that. I'm not sure if I have this 100% correct. I do know that the car runs better now with the new controller and no check engine light.
I was driving to work this morning and the engine light came on ...it did not flicker it just stayed on. This is a 2002 with 4000 miles on it. So I stopped by Said shop and he said since I race it that this problem will keep the light coming on he can reset it but it will just come back on again.. Anyone else?? I don't want to put a piece of tape over it!!!!

Not even a great tech can tell what the codes are without hooking his gizmo up to it and checking it out. Have him read the codes! Then come back and tell us what the codes were and it will be easier for people to make suggestions.
So... find out what the codes are and what their translated meaning is,(write them down) and get back to us.
