You can trust Tom implicitly. He stands behind his products. I bought the Balengers from him. The headers drop in without lifting the engine. For a first timer, if you a mechanically inclined you can change the headers out in about 4-6 hours. The exhausts are a different story.

Remove the airbox and heater fan on the drivers side. Both sides (headers) drop in from top as will the old cast iron headers. I have Dynomax bullet mufflers and Roe's high flow cats. The sound is great and is absolutely tolerable at road speeds. The best part, 405 hp/475 ft lb. Probably 10-15 of that hp is from the exhaust change.

The main problem is the Balenger exhaust kit. That is exactly what it is, a kit. Don't waste your time with the kit unless you have a good muffler shop and a lot of time. There is not a lot of room within the sills and it is a ******* to get everything aligned and not touching the sills.

Also keep the old exhaust intact, just in case you want to take them off in the future. Everyone I have talked to that has adultered there factory exhaust was sorry.

Here is the good part, I just sold my 94 and bought a Gen II. I'm putting the headers on the new car, the exhausts are for sale. The nice part is they use the stock supports. With my setup the exhaust mount in minutes. You could do the whole job in one day taking your time. I also have a Sean Roe VEC 1 computer available for the 94. It was good for about 5-7 hp.

Nitrous from Tom is definitely the quickest/cheapest way to bulk HP increase. I've had mine for a year and am happy I did it. Next week I'm going to change the rear end to 3.55. That isn't a HP increase but people say it feels like a 100 HP increase in seat of the pants. I go for inexpensive bang for the buck mods.

1. Smooth tubes (not a huge increase but not much money either) - $50
2. Nitrous from BTR (big increase, especially noticeable in higher gears when you normally would be losing some of the pull) - $2000
3. High flow exhaust and high flow cats. Pretty cheap and easy and made a pretty big difference. - $600
4. Gear change. About to find out whether that one is worth it. - $600

I agree with that part totally. However, I installed the entire header/exhaust system in my garage with the car on jack stands and using only simply hand tools. The system went together like it had eyes. Quality engineered system that fit like a glove. Also sounds great and looks awesome.

PS - I initially went catless. The assualt on the olfactory senses was overwealming (Kid97GTS calls me a lady - whatever!) so I installed high flow cats from John B. Odor is gone, sound toned down to a more reasonable level. Lost a few ponies in the process (literally just a few) but well worth the trade-off.

Good luck .....

You are right, I should have clarified the fact that the my install was a Gen I. The Gen II is a piece of cake.
