I am currently having my 94 rebuilt (no it did not need it), and having some performance mods completed. As a former mechanic who used to work on Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Maserati's I can tell you a good engine place is hard to find. ESI racing in San Diego (619)229-7765 is the best place I have ever seen at work. They are balancing, blueprinting, putting in racing pistons (and coating them)as well as a number of other mods(heads, cam intake etc). Upon completion I will post my new power numbers. Bob the owner discussed everything from what I wanted, how I was going to drive, and even discussed parts selection vs price with me. They also build winston cup engines, bonneville salt flat racers, and engines that race against CDI built vipers.
Anyway I feel like I found a gold mine, and figured I would share my find. Also did I mention that their prices are ourstanding. I hope this helps some of you

Cheers Tristan

Sorry,
I should have specified.....They are engine builders, not a service department. The only thing they do is engine work. They do everything in-house nothing is contracted out.

Tristan,
being in Fl i assume you sent your car to CA.??
If so did they use there own service for trans?
how did that work??
Being in suburb of Buffalo NY there is NO Viper anything here!!
I am one of about 3 vipers in this area.
So anything I wish to do major has to be shipped out.
I was lucky to find a vipertech.
**** I wish i lived somewhere

Jmandela,
I actually live in california (for another 2 weeks). I am in a special branch of the Navy, and it requires a lot of moving. Like I said before, I used to work on a lot of exotic cars, and I can be extreemly picky with details especially when it come to engines. Bob at ESI is the best person I have worked with. If you have any specific questions on what he did to my engine, or what he is charging me e-mail me at [email protected]. I am sure if you watch T.V. you have seen one of his engines at work.

Tristen- You may want to consider upgrading your rocker arms. Gen 1 engines 5-1 ratio. You can upgrade to the roller rockers and 7-1 ratio. Good luck!!

Jeff,
I have upgraded the rockers (TNT 1.7)...I don't think there is a thing I have not changed or modified...ok the connecting rods, and crank. Thanks for the input - I am looking forward to seeing the car strapped to a chassis dyno and seeing what it makes at the rear tire.
