Exhaust And Bolt on Upgrades - Seeking Advise

[Chuck 98 RT/10]

My RT/10 has rear muffler deleted ($150 at Midas) and sounds great with the top off and rear window out. Dyno'd at 425.

You may want to make your upgrades gradually.

I'm considering Hi Flows or just replacing the cat with pipe, but there will be residue on the rear bumper if I do.

Sean Roe is a great source. You also have the one and only Chuck Tator in your neck of the woods.

That's why you may want to do your upgrades gradually.

The muffler shop, or Tator possibly, will manufacture straight pipes, H pipe or X pipe or whatever you want. My RT/10 exhaust is stock except for the rear muffler delete.

My GTS is very loud. It has a 3 inch catback. No cats. Stock headers.

Bob....remember, one person's "loud" is another person's "too quiet". I have found this especially true with the Viper owners.
Some good advice here might be to listen to several of the different combinations of headers, cat-backs, etc. if you can. Then decide. Each owner seems to like a different setup. For me, it's the Belanger headers and the Corsa 3" catback. In my book, it's not too quiet or too loud. Others like something else. I also agree that it's often better to do changes to your car gradually, a trick hot-rodders almost religiously do so that you can determine the net gain or loss from what you did. Too many changes at once and you'll never know what you derived from that catback/flywheel/header/etc/etc. Just some food for thought. pete the ex glass guy and hot rodder
