Per one of the true gurus of this forum, it has come to my attention that it is common for Vipers to experience exhaust fume incursion into the passenger compartment due to dislocation of one or both of the rear vents located to each side of the rear area. There have been prior posts on this problem including how to fix it; however, I think that it is important to determine the scope of the problem since exhaust fume incursion is a very serious matter that can, under some circumstances, result in lapses in proper judgment, narrowing of field of vision, lung problems, loss of consciousness, etc. Correct me if I am wrong but I am not aware of Dodge warning Viper owners about this problem. If I am correct and Dodge has not warned Viper owners, Dodge should do so immediately. PLEASE POST IF YOU HAVE HAD THE PROBLEM. Thank you.

Yes. I am an attorney but I limit my practice to civil and criminal tax defense, strategic analysis and related matters. I do not handle product liability cases.

I would guess that it would be hard to get DC to even hint that there is a potential problem. The power steering cap and seat belt release issues are even worse to me.

What happened, are you blaming a speeding ticket on your exhaust fumes clouding your judgement?

Are you also responsible for no more see-saws or merry-go -rounds on playgrounds, no diving boards at any public pools, and 4 foot deep swimming pools from the Bellagio to the Holiday Inn? Are you responsible for all of the ridiculous warning stickers pasted all over everything that we by (Caution, iron gets hot and may burn!)? Do you realize that real people do real work in this world despite being harassed with frivolous lawsuits by attorneys such as yourself? If it were up to people like yourself, there would be NO VIPERS in existence because of the inherent dangers of driving such high performance cars. Why don't you go live in a padded room so you don't injure yourself. Better yet, stop consuming oxygen that a more worthy microorganism could use.

If I smell fumes in my car don't you think that it's my responsibility to deal with it and not expect DC to warn me about what may or may not happen?

You know where you can shove your pole.

Signed,

A Physician who has been frivolously sued with the case dropped by the plaintiff's attorney after three years due to lack of any expert witness willing to challenge my care as below the standard of care (i.e perfect). Now I am paying enough in malpractice insurance to buy a Viper every year.

Try to control yourself and read the posts again. It has nothing to do with your comments. This is a serious problem. CO poisoning is very real and is, by its nature, not always noticed. As a physician who, in more calm moments, I am sure actually cares about people, you will agree that people should be warned so that the vents can be fixed. I do not know about you but I think that most of us who paid for our warranties and extended warranties expect same from Dodge. The Viper is a great product. I will ignore your comments about attorneys since I, as indicated above, do not do this type of litigation. However, I have defended many of your fellow physicians over the years who became a bit aggressive vis a vie their tax obligations. I hope that you are able to resolve your anger and get control of yourself. Your demeaner is inconsitent with the boble profession that you chose to pursue.

DrDJ: My APPLAUSE SIR ! ( Even though VCA Member Bobpantax has nothing to do with your situation )

I think I'm going to go play with a Taco Bell bag around my head, brush my teeth with some drano, and try to eat a car battery, all while running with scissors. (If only someone would have warned me...)

I have read your post again and it reads the same.

In other words, you are "phishing" for data for a class action suit potentially worth a ton of money. Never mind that no one has ever died or been injured from CO- poisoning in a Viper outside of being in an enclosed garage with the motor running. If you want to fix your problem, use the search key to find the prior posts.

I tend to buy stocks that have recently taken a big hit, usually from adjusted earnings for years past or other bad news. Because of this, I routinely get invitations to join class action suits. In the end, the party bringing the suit gets most of any settlement (and I mean the attorneys that filed it, not the actual litigants), while the stockholders, if they joined, get pennies per stock owned for what they have lost. It is one of the biggest scams ever, and I never join in.

Please don't take my tirade personally, as I don't know you from Adam, it was meant for all litigation attorneys and not just you.

IMHO, it is inappropriate to use of this forum for such purposes as you have done.

Could you please explain the "seat belt release issue"? Thanks.

To be ownest I like a lot these exhaust fumes in the cockpit. One of my old friends who owns several muscle cars even asked me to modify his viper so it will smell the fuel like his old cars.
