I have the Snake Oyl exhaust with some pretty gigantic exhaust tips, and they've very close to the top of the rear bumper plastic. I'd be interested in mounting a billet heat shield, similar to the one I saw on the back of the Venom 800. Does anyone have one/sell one? Is this just a sheet of aluminum with a hole cut in it, or is there some sort of insulation in there that I can't see?

Go with a heavy gauge of sheet metal and spray the backing with ceramic insulation, VHT 1500 was what I used on my sills. Billet is heavy and you wouldn't want that mass distorting your flexible bodywork during suspension transients. I didn't notice any insulation on the Venom shield I checked but the ehxaust tips had plenty of air between them and the bodywork.
