Scott,
You said: The clamp is over a butt connection.

Do you mean the two joining pipes do not slip one into the other?
That won't work. Either weld, or go to a muffler shop and have a slip joint made that will receive both pipes, and use 2 clamps,
Good luck,

Hey guys, I need a little help.

I have located a leak from one of the clamps securing my straight pipe from the headers to the cat back. I have torqued down on that thing so that I don't think Hercules himself could tighten it anymore. It's still leaking. Not enough to hear, but you can feel.

The clamp is over a butt connection.

It's also leaking enough that it is actually making my side sill just as hot as they were with the cats.

Could anybody tell me of a sure fire method of clamping a butt conection (not welding) to keep it from leaking.

Thanks

Scott
