Experience at Dealer w/ Corvette Expert w/ muy Z06.. Viper related

Guys I’m so frustrated, I have just to Vent, so hear
me out.. It is vette/viper related.
I just took the my 01 Z06 to the dealer to get a plastic
wiper cover replaced.
I’ve met with the corvette “expert”. A 300 lb. Bozo.
So we are talking and I don’t know how , but I said I
had a,Z-r1 HE goes oh, but
This will blow a Zr-1 away!!!… I’m like what the
F&*(??
I said, stock to stock they are close.. He goes, No
way, I’ve fixed both and driven both .. Not even
close.. I’m fuming right now…
Then He tell’s me he has customers running 11’s with a
KN filter.. ***?
So I tell him.. this thing is slow man.. A Viper Will
walk away from it BIG TIME..
HE goes.. No way bro.. this is the fastest thing out
there..
My customers blow away vipers.. bone stock!!!

It runs 11's with K&N's..
ANd I just got from Moroso Last wed. and all I could do was 13.1 at 110 mph with a 1500 rpm dump clutch...
I almost lost it.. I just told him.. You have not been
around much..
He said.. They probably gave you a dog, or maybe you
cant drive it…

GOD!!. I felt like taking this BOZO for a ride and
Powershift his fat *** to hell ,
Until the FAT LADY SINGS!!!
But I stayed humble ( I don’t brag or show off.. not
my style) , and said.. yea…
I probably got a bad on (slowest Z06)…..
just a plain old dog!

No wonder there are so many new C-5 onwers out there
that think they are God’d gift to the world!

I need to cool off!!!

Where the hell do they get the idea they can blow vipers from a street roll?

ppl will repeat and beleive anything they hear. You think you're fuming? how about going to a bmw dealer and have them say with a straight face that "they can smoke vipers if they put a chip in them".. Argghh

He does sound like a blow hard all right. I really just try to ignore guys like that, I mean, whats the point of arguing.

A ZR1 and a Z06 is a great combination of cars. I have a 99 GTS and an 01 Z06 and I like them both.

BBAAAUUUUHHHHAAAAAa...that gave me a serious chuckle...Slack jawed salesmen like that should be shot on-site...The Z06 is very cool, and the ZR-1 was freakin rad...but that guy needs a solid shot of reality...right between the eyes...

he was no salesman.. he was the "corvette specialist" there.
He said he has driven all.. nothing like the Z06...
Worst thing is I have to come back monday so they can fix the **** thing... I'll try to stay quiet, and look stupid.. it is better

I love the ZR-1. I remember when I bought my '94 C-4 and right beside it was a yellow '94 ZR-1. I was drooling over the Z and the 72K sticker was shocking as it was 30K more than the one I bought!

Screw that pompous know-nothing and enjoy your cars. I bet the "Vette Specialist" drives home a Ford ****** at the end of the day, and slighted you because of jealously.

That reminds me when the new M5 came out. There seemed to be report after report of guys getting challenged by M5's. It turns out many of the salesmen were telling them that they would blow Vipers away.

Well, they didn't.

I think salesmen and "knowledgeable" people get into to trouble now with the internet age and the interchange of information.

10 years ago, you would have just wondered if you were crazy or something. Now, on the average, about 100 to 200 car enthusiasts will look at your post.

As well a my 94 RT/10 I also own a 02 AMG 32 V6 Compressor. This car is quick.
My buddy just got a new Z06 and we had them up on a road track north of where we live.
Well he was a little red faced at the end of the day, because every time I passed him I would slow down so he could pass me back (V6 vs V8).
Now I know my Mercedes cannot compete with my Viper for raw power, not even close.

So, what was that so called Vette expert drinkin' anyhow??

Salesmen in particular are willing to say ANYTHING to make the sale.

At Irvine BMW near my home, I went to look at a nice new Z8.

After admiring the build quality and retro style of it for a while, the salesman thinks I'm hooked, so he opens up with:

"There's nothing on the road today that this car can't beat"

That's when I told him I had a Viper, and it had 50 more horsepower, and how I'd be happy to give him a run.

He abruptly changed the subject, and became visibly subdued.
