I am sort of having a hard time deciding what to do. I hate taking car in for anything. So far nothing ever major in 3 years. The sad part here in Tampa is there is only two places to go to , one is not very Viper friendly and the other you just don't feel like you can trust his work. Factory warranty expires in 3 weeks.

hey Mike..as far as J.U dodge and B.W dodge i absolutely agree but for the low cost of the extended,it usually pays for itself first time not to mention the value of piece of mind,it would be worth the trip accross the bridge let me know if you do i will hook you up with a decent dealer/tech or of course what am i saying without warranty you always have me,yea you dont want that crappy extended

PS research youre extended options there are some good deals if you look hard enough, theres some past threads with phone #s...DONT PAY RETAIL

Do a search on 'warranty'. I got the 7 year (4 more after 3 year expires) 60,000 mile, 0 deductible, MAXCARE (The best) Plan for a whopping $1,300-$1,400 bucks!!! WHAT A FREAK'IN DEAL!!! Call Marian Von (spelled wrong) at Waldorf Dodge in Maryland. The number is (301) 645-4900. The money is worth the piece-of-mind, and the extended warranty is transferrable (one time) to next owner. Great 'buying' incentive.

You know of a decent tech in the Tampa Bay area??? Who??? The question has been asked many times on this board.

Just bought the extended warranty on my 97 a few months ago (inservice date of 10/99). It's just an insurance policy that I hope I don't need, but will be glad that I have it if/when the time comes!!! Of course I'll have to wait to supercharge the Viper now

my dealer gave me a free warrenty on my 97 GTS with a non mopar company for the 7/70. I am shocked that they have paid for EVERYTHING that has gone wrong.

I just purchased EZGOINN's 96 Black RT/10. One of the incentives, other than it's awesome, was he had a transferrable extended warranty that has 2 years and 20,000+ miles left on it.

This morning I took the paperwork to my Dodge dealer with my $50 to transfer.

Peace of mind means I will have a piece of my mind left!

Take it from someone who knows........

I just had an Arrow rebuild on my '94. Fortunately for me I had purchsed an extended warranty, so the $12K job cost me only $100.

We all hope we never have to use our warranties, but it sure helps me to sleep better.

I agree with Lance

Thanks for advice and input, but I may take a chance because if engine ever breaks it will give me excuse to have Scott or BTR turn it into a Beast like theirs. I think the biggest reason for not getting extended warranty for me is this is a sad place to live and rely on these so called Viper techs. I actually had one tell me he looks at the Viper just like any other car a Neon, etc. If I had the support alot of you seem to have especially up north I would not hesitate. Thanks again.

I'll purchase the extended warranty to give me a reason why I can't put on a Supercharger and not spend the money I don't have

But if I had the money for a supercharger I would do it anyway.

DC has been pretty good with my warranty claims so far

When deciding the same question when I bought my car, I toured the 3 DC dealers in my town of a 1/4 million and they did not own a Viper shop manual, nor did anyone have experience with a Viper beyond oil changes. That sealed the deal for me.....

I run seat of the pants, if there was a competent dealer close by I would reconsider. Apart from tranny/motor failure, most items I can handle the install myself.

Intake gaskets/rear main seal/clutch is all small fry in my opinion......
